Good man Shane.
A gentleman too. Brilliant stuff for Amateur golf in Ireland.
Go on now, win the Walker Cup, turn pro, and enjoy 2 years exemption on Tour.
A credit to your sport.

Class stuff. Fair play to him.
On a traffic light green means 'go' and yellow means 'yield', but on a banana it's just the opposite. Green means 'hold on,' yellow means 'go ahead,' and red means, 'where the f%~k did you get that banana at?' - Mitch Hedberg

Re: Irish Open Golf
After that putt on the 72nd, it would have been a tragic way to lose the title.

Absolutely heroic stuff, and no more than he deserved as he effectively led from pillar to post. Phenomenal performance for an amateur in his first tour event.
For the record, am I the only one who thought Sky were making too much of a deal of his occasional expletives!? I know you could clearly hear him swear about 4 or 5 times on live TV but it's unnatural to expect players under that level of pressure to completely moderate their language. If an official had been sent up to him to complain and that had put him off, I would have been livid. Thankfully, it doesn't seem that anything like that happened.

Sky are incredibly sanctimonious about things like that. They stick microphones everywhere and then run for cover if anyone says anything that could be in the slightest bit controversial. They go down quicker then ...tackle-bag wrote: For the record, am I the only one who thought Sky were making too much of a deal of his occasional expletives!? I watched it on RTE and they didn't apologise once which is good!Grumpy Old Man wrote:Sky are incredibly sanctimonious about things like that. Fantastic performance by him. An absolute star! His 2nd shot into the 2nd playoff was something else! 260 yards to about 8 feet under that pressure.
