not sure if anyone has seen this programme on ESPN free channel (around 9ish most nights). It shows football games from late 70s/early 80s - absolute gold as far as i am concerned. None of your fancy dan stepovers/diving/bitching at the ref - just honest football with proper hair, moustaches and ridiculously short shorts.
last night was Man U 0-4 Notts Forest just as Forest were beginning their really succesful spell - magic football - interesting to hear the racial abuse of Viv Anderson by the crowd - amazing that it took so long to stamp it out??

Re: ESPN Classics
I concur. Some really good games from the past.Watched an Everton vs Liverpool game from 1982 a few weeks back.
The reds won 5-0.Plenty of other good games such as the Euro '88 final.Would anyone agree with me that the football
played in the 70s/80s/90s was much more free flowing with none of the tactical, functional soccer you get nowadays ?
