As has already been said we really are a laughing stock at this stage. In saying that though I wonder had the same thing happened to say France if more would have been done to help them and would the idea of being an extra team seem as outrageous?

It was a ridiculous request from the FAI and Blatter should have kept such talks private - the FAI merely gave him an easy way out of this mess - the way he came out with that yesterday has effectively ended the matter and shown us to be complete morons - and FIFA come out of it looking relatively ok - the way he said it was as if to say "see, these are the lunatics Im trying to deal with". The FAI are obviously very politically naieve.

and people like you meekly accept we were royally f%~ked over by FIFA and lay blame with the FAI. FFS they were trying to get something done..anything done..desperate ..but at least they tried.
