Yep - didnt know about the blind guy, looking forward to seeing him run.
Olive Loughnane pulled out of the walk due to illness.

4th place is a real bitch - though in my limited knowledge, he didnt seem anywhere near catching a medal.

Seems to have been a good plan by Athletics Ireland to send such a big team to get experience, some of them seem to be performing well.

There seemed no one in the stadium yesterday, I presume it will fill up as the week progresses.
Get in the f%~king bag.

Well Heffernan was expected to finish in the top 10 and ended up only seconds outside the medals so it was a fine performance.

Tori couldn't make 4.25 so she's out but with a new National Record.

Stephanie O'Reilly is running in heat 1 of the 3000m steeplechase at the moment for anyone with access to a TV.

No joy for Stephanie with a 10th place finish but as Slipper said, a lot of this is about experience ahead of London 2012

Fionnuala Britton is running in the 2nd heat.

Finished 5th in 1:49:53 making him the 2nd fastest runner up with two heats to go. Getting beyond the heats would be more than was expected.

The last two heats were slower than David's so he makes the semi finals.

Good morning's work by the Irish athletes with 3 runners going through to the next round.

With 3k to go the Russian Bakulin started to fade and dropped from 2nd but the gap was too big and Rob couldn't catch him and finished in 4th.

Colin Griffin finished 11th in the same race.

A Seasonal Best of 1.90 was 2cm too low for Deirdre Ryan to qualify for the High Jump final.

Next up for Ireland is Niamh Whelan in the 200m heats at 11.20.

Derval had a great run in the 100m, did really well to get the silver. I thought she had it won at one point.

Considering she came off the blocks nearly last, she did fantastic. Fair play to her!!

Yeah, she had a very dodgy start by her standards.

Delighted for her. Looking good to do well in next years World Championships if she can stay injury free.

She's had a few False starts against her this year so you can understand the anxiety of being booted out at that late stage being a total sickener.
Her performance from there in was incredible and that divided her from the winner was two 1/100ths Sec..... it's centimetres at that rate.

I quite liked the look of Junstine Kinney myself. I think she has plenty of potential...
