Also, and quite an aside I know, the increased blood flow in your ears when exercising is supposed to assist hearing damage. That and the fact that people tend to listen to pumping gym mixes to get their adrenaline going...

That Byzantine rulers podcast sounds fascinating. Might take up running to listen to it!

His Norman Centuries one is also worth a listen. Turns out there was more to the Normans than 1066 and coming to Ireland with McMurrough.

I always listen to Ruggamatrix, off the ball, or the Talking History podcast from Newstalk when in the Gym/Cycling. I would listen to Bluestalk but they seem to have given up on the Audio podcast.

Two and a half weeks in to running and I just manged to do 4k for the first time in 24 mins, delighted with that. It really is a case of just getting there at your own and pace and sticking to it.
