Unbelievable cop out by the USGA by the looks of things, giving Tiger the benefit of a rule which on its face patently doesn't apply to his situation.

The new rule applies only to situations "where a player is not aware he has breached a Rule because of facts that he did not know and could not reasonably have discovered prior to returning his score card". That whoremongering pr!ck knew all of the facts at the time. He just didn't know the rule.

Should have been DQ'd. Failing that he should have withdrew.

I think he will have lost a lot of respect with his fellow players over this. Can't see them being happy he got away with it.
