Utterly unbelievable rewriting of the record books. There must be barely a bone in his body that he hasn't broken at this stage plus he has seen several weighing room colleagues paralysed or killed in action during his career. I'm fairly certain I wouldn't still have the same hunger for it that he has.

Sure he musn't be that great then if he's fallen off that many times ;-).

What a machine, his drive to compete is incredible. He competes in a huge amount of races every year, far more than the other elite jockeys.

A bit out there. I know Richard Johnston has over 2000. Think it is about 2500 and he is the second highest winner. I believe he has been second in the jockey championship more than 12 times.

Pegleg the 4000 are the number of wins. I am not sure how many races in total he has had. The falls and injuries are the really amazing thing. He has damaged vertebrate and broken arms and legs but has recovered quickly enough to still be top jock at the end of the year. He has been top jock every year for the last 18 years starting with the first year he turned pro.

There are and have been jockeys as talented or better but none with the drive to keep going. I would put Ruby on par with him but he wants a life so will not put in the hours and the travel required for these results.

Champion jockey in the UK since 1996. The champion jockey competition tends to be streaky. There's been about 4 winners in 40 years but McCoy has taken it to the next level. It's amazing
