A very enjoyable read.......a real classic that game. Some of the goals scored in those finals(David Narey's for Scotland V Brazil anyone?) will live long in the memory.

RTE appear to have won the telly battle before its even begun. Apart from the usual punditry teams they've added a couple of interesting names. Didi Hamann and Ossie Ardiles are back, and they have added Brad Friedel, Neil Lennon and Paul Clement. Trevor Steven is back as well as a co-commentator. Pity theres no Souness.

Don't know about that. Their main panel will still be Giles, Dunphy and Brady?

Ossie Ardiles is very difficult to understand. Didi and Steven are very good.

An article in The Score about the great Danish team of the 80's and their 86 World Cup tournament. They really were great to watch, with skillful footballers all through the team. Pity they collapsed against Spain.

Dunphy was saying that Croatia aren't as good as they were 2yrs ago, I would seriously beg to differ. They have some lovely players and with Manzudkic (spelling) comes back they'll be a more dangerous outfit.

Brazil are a poor team, a Brazil team who can't pass is a travesty.

Croatia were done by shocking officiating......absolutely shocking. If they had a half decent keeper they'd have won......that Brazilian team needs to improve as they can't surely rely on the officials helping in every game.

That ref didn't even pretend that Blatter hadn't paid him off

I love players like Olic, not the most gifted but he plays out of his skin.

Modric was outstanding in the second half last night. Lovely little player.
Saw nothing to change my opinion of this Brazil team last night but in fairness Neymar was very good - worked hard and seems far more comfortable in that team than he does in the Barcelona one.

Ive heard it said that Neymar was actually developing very nicely at Barca until all the stuff about his transfer came out, not too surprised he looks more comfortable for Brazil.

More dreadful officiating in the Mexico game. they've already had two perfectly good goals disallowed by the same linesman. Second half just starting - Dos Santos and Mexico certainly deserve this one. Cameroun have shown nothing thus far

I see RTE are STILL struggling with syncing the coverage & audio.. I may have to listen to Andy 'plastic paddy' Townsend.

I missed the penno decision, but the commentary team seem to think it was a little harsh. Having said that, Spain are full value for their lead after half an hour. I can't remember seeing a worse Dutch team. But who knows, they're set up for a counter-attack
