Anyone got any ideas, im looking at the travellodge in Cheltemham which is cheap at the moment. Anyone got any ideas for hotels in Glaws itself?

Jim put up a list in the visitors section, it's the only post there so you should have no trouble finding it.....

Just booked teh Edward Hotel - 10 mins from ground / town - it is certainly not the ritz but at £47.50 per room with full cooked english brekkie, it suits the pocket.

Other options are the Holiday In which is £63
Get in the f%~king bag.

I booked the Edward hotel, there seems to be a lack of hotels in Gloucester itself but a lot about the local area that are a short taxi journey away.

Hmmmm 6X.... Almost every pub in Wiltshire even if they're tied to another brewery, has 6X. Great stuff.

Also, look out for Tanglefoot - does exactly what it says on the tin...

Don't ask about the Cornish beer called Crippledick

Donny Brooke wrote:I haven't booked anything in Gloucester yet. Sheepshagger and Applesourz have booked the holiday Inn. Seems nice and the price is reasonable at £55 a night for the room. The only thing is it's two miles out of town, which would put me off. So I think I'll go for the one of the B&Bs near the ground (See Jim the Glaws fan's list)
We're in the Premier Travel inn (Longford Inn) - second on Jim's list!

Ah yes - Wadworth's 6X - the beer of beers

As the Longford Arms is 10 minutes walk from the ground - they have a car park and Wadworths my search for accommodation has come to and end and they will be having the pleasure of putting the Uncle up next January.

Now I have to start looking at how to get to France!!

Gloucester is supposed to be a really rough spot and almost everyone is advising to book accomodation in Cheltenham, think they call it the 'nam.

Talking to someone I know in B'ham, she gives the following tips:
as a warning once you been to the match there is pretty much nothing else in Gloucester but the Cathedral! and that will not fill a weekend - and it gets shut if they are filming Harry Potter! Birmingham can fill a weekend, plenty to see and do and for £4.50 you can get unlimited travel on the bus and trains within the West Midlands region!
once your flights are sorted you can get a cheap day return for about £15 from Birmingham
Birmingham is 40mins from Gloucester
