Getting a bit closer to getting organised. Was allocated cheapy tickets in the lottery, so from a budget point of view that helped.

May have chance to get lift on ferry over and lift to Penarth for camping, don't really care about getting home (yet).

Someone double check me here - I put this together on very short notice :-

Ferry arrives Pembroke 12:45.

Staying Llanelli - about 1 hr 20 or so.

Train Llanelli to Cardiff - arrive 15:45.

I have to collect tickets from Millenium Stadium box office. This is the bit that worries me a little bit - that together with the Pembroke - Llanelli car journey (traffic ? heard stories of 40 minute waits to get off the ferry which are alarming me)

Am I very tight on time here ?

(I appreciate acts of god and/or a late ferry would or could screw us - safe enough though ?)

Thoughts appreciated especially from those who've pulled a similar trip.

Trains ex Llanelli 14:28 & 14:45 to Cardiff (arr 15:47 & 16:02). I would say you are tight on time as Llanelli is off the A48/M4 corridor. It's 68Km to drive with about 50% on Single Carriageway roads. You would really need to ensure that you get you routeing right first time. TBH as a Biker who can avoid most of the post ferry traffic, (and it looks like that ferry will be busy), and having travelled around that part of Wales, I would not be stopping off en route. A better option might be to drive through to Cardiff. BTW the 14:45 train will be very busy, (it's the ex 13:50 from Fishguard Harbour), there might be a few Rugby Fans on it!

Thanks for the help.

I suppose if I look at the route, its the same road for cardiff up to close to where the M4 kicks in.,

If we're behind the curve for the earlier train (1430) we can push on through to cardiff.

Cheers again.

Fairly answers that.

A good 23 man squad of us forming a 5 car convoy on the 9.15pm sailing Friday night.

Excitement beginning to creep in now!
