You know yourself Jim, they just want to give the Irish accent a crack on the local women.
My staying in Cheltenham is purely for monetary reasons but I shall be in Gloucester on the lash after the game!

Duff I hear Birmingham is a town thats banned dancing!! you know what that means
Now that rugby's oldest bridesmaid has finally got hitched, she can cast a haughty glance towards Leinster, her high-living sister from Dublin, who, despite her immense beauty and vast potential, has trouble getting lucky.

You really should be having at least the saturday night out in the 'ster then. Variety is the spice of life...Duff Paddy wrote:I was planning on staying in the 'nam until I heard that there were two reflexes in Birmingham. Might take a night in the 'ham now, followed by two nights in the 'nam.

Don't worry Jim, there'll be more than enough of us going on the lash in Gloucester for the three nights.Jim, the Glaws fan wrote:Going out in Birmingham, stying in Cheltenham?
Are you coing for a rugby weekend or a posh holiday?
You have to be drinking in Gloucester, and mixing it with the local rugby fans to truly apprietiate the city.
It'd be like me saying I was coming to the game, but then heading off to Liverpool on the way home for the night out!
To me, staying in Cheltenham or Birmingham is just too much bloody hassle. Cheltenham may well be a prettier town but there will be no buzz there, the Leinster game will mean nothing to them.
One of the best things about the away trips is the craic you have mixing with the locals, the banter, the sing-songs etc.
You'll have to give us the low-down on all the best rugby pubs in Gloucester closer to the trip though.

Was over in Glos a couple of years ago with Ulster ........crackin' good rugby town. We had a few in Sloanes before the game and a few more in Kingsholm. Went over to Mike Teague's pub afterwards (opposite the ground) and can't remember the names of any of the others (surprise surprise) but they are a very friendly bunch. Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. I am sure Jim will be able to point you all in the right direction of the best watering holes

If you're staying in the Longford Arms you should give up your place to someone who would better aprreciate the Wadworth's 6X that they sell there.
Boddington's in Gloucester - of course you'll be able to get it but that's not the question you should be asking.
When in the UK - think local, drink local and keep it real

Sorry UM, as I say I'm an addict. And you already warned me that I'd be blowing chunks if I drank the 6X.Uncle Mort wrote:sarah_lennon wrote:Jim I'm a Boddington's Addict - can I get it in Glaws??

I really made an effort with the ale over in Bath the last time but it's fecking manky. I'd love to get a taste for it cause the lager over there is lousy. But it was traumatic enough just getting through the two pints I tried.
