Its christmas so I may treat myself to the Sarsfield Bridge Hotel or Jurys. The Railway is fine during the summer, and they do a really great burger in the bar. The last time I was down I stayed in Jurys (which is beside our Limerick office) and I had a "corner" room, really excellent view of the river.JoseFantastique wrote:Have you rang the Railway Hotel yet? Or will you be branching out to other fine hosteleries?

Just wondering if Irish Rail might be running a restricted service, given that its holiday time and a lot of people may want to travelDave Cahill wrote:The train might be a good option GrumpyGrumpy Old Man wrote:I think that is a definite trip, wouldn't have bothered if it was in MP. Are we talking a bus trip here?

So I've heard, and they have Erdinger in the bar, though only the 33cl bottles.JoseFantastique wrote:Dave Cahill wrote:Its christmas so I may treat myself to the Sarsfield Bridge Hotel or Jurys. Jurys is actually the handiest, its close to Clohessys and Dolans, and its only a step away from O'Connell street, plenty of parking too.

Look on the brightside SS, you can discover a world outside of Accor Hotels!sheepshagger wrote:Oh No! - theres no IBIS down there (or any other Accor Hotel)Donny Brooke wrote:Think I'll do a stayover in Limerick then so and have a few pints in Clohessys.
That world does exist you know.
Trains might be dodgy alright at that time so might have to get the bus down.

Feck you and your quick editing! I had a great joke all lined upDuff Paddy wrote:Yes and it was shite. Don't be so patronising!Donny Brooke wrote: Dave C is right Duffer, Limerick is a great town for a night out.
I'd take a night out in Limerick over a night out in Cork any time.
Have you ever been on a night out there yourself?

No need to get touchy, I wasn't being patronising at all.
I was just wondering if you'd ever been there or were just going on reputation.
Was there no reflex clubs there to keep you happy?

I find this whole thread shallow and pedantic
as both cities( ) are complete shitholes
as both cities( ) are complete shitholes
Now that rugby's oldest bridesmaid has finally got hitched, she can cast a haughty glance towards Leinster, her high-living sister from Dublin, who, despite her immense beauty and vast potential, has trouble getting lucky.

Well each to their own, I went to Limerick for a wedding a couple of years back and I thought it was fine.Duff Paddy wrote:Seriously, I was there for a weekend and didn't like it at all. Just my opinion. I hear a lot of people going on and on about Belfast being a great city for going out in as well - I think it's cr@p.
Don't know about Belfast as I've never been on a night out there. I just don't fancy going on a day trip on a bus there and back on the day. I have nightmares about burst bladders on the way back.
