Castres Away January 2014

Post by bails »

Any independent travellers looking at this one

Toulouse is the destination, and then a train to Castres. Only BA via Heathrow, Easyjet via Gatwick and Air France Via Amsterdam or Paris appear to be options

Ryanair do go to Carcasonne but there doesn't appear to be a direct train or bus to Castres. It's all via Toulouse

Caster has a small airport serviced by Air France from Paris Orly. And nobody flies Dublin to Orly. It would involve a trip across Paris from Ouest to L'East

Any thoughts fellow travellers

Oh JWT do a one nighter at €469 but my Bank Manager feels it's steep

Will be waiting for the fixture to be confirmed before booking anything.

A cheap flight can be negated by extra accommodation/booze/food costs by staying extra nights.

This could be a disaster for traveling fans
The schedule, to be released today, tasks Matt O’Connor’s squad with a Sunday evening journey home from Castres on January 12th ahead of the Ospreys visit to the RDS on Friday, January 17th.

A Sunday KO will KILL the traveling support :(

A lot of people won't want to do indirect flights that involve a 2/3 night stay so close after Christmas :(

Our fixture is confirmed as the Sunday lunch time game :( . That's bad but it does mean that people may be able to get home Sunday night.

I'm lucky that it doesn't affect me but it seems like it'll be a very small crowd of us out there

From the other thread.

Dublin > Bristol > Toulouse. Out Saturday at 08:15. Toulouse 13:00
Toulouse > Bristol > Dublin. Back Monday at 12:30 arrive home at 19:00

148 juros all in. Ryanair to Bristol Easyjet to Toulouse.

Not bothering myself but that was the best I could see as the direct flights are only Friday and Sunday.

I seem to remember Ryanair putting on direct/additional flights to somewhere in France for a Munster match in the past

Same day flights were out on for the Bordeaux (admittedly that was a semi).

Years ago Aer Arann (when they were official sponsor) did a couple of charters too.

Right folks, is anybody else planning on staying in Toulouse on the Saturday and Sunday night for this one?

Fecken 250 when I looked. AND you have to break rule 1 of away trips. Always stay over the night of the game. If I was going I would do Bristol Toulouse and stay Saturday & Sunday. Only 148.

Are the tickets available yet, or do we get them through Castres ?. In 2008 remember being behind the posts think that was from the leinster allocation, the terrace is where I'll be this time can't find any tickets on sale for this game on their web site yet ?.
