Castres v Leinster 2014/2015 (Oligarchs Cup)
Took a chance and pre reserved Hotel Riviere (1st choice) or Hotel Miredames (2nd choice) over all 6 weekends, these are two of the best value and most central Hotels in Castres, Hope we get there in December in time for the Christmas market, like we did in 2008/2009.

And if they charge your card in advance, you'd need serious credit limit room to manoeuvre.

Did the same, I'm relying on your hotel recommendation for me and Jnr!!
Hotel Rivière at €114 for 2nights for the first 4 weekends and Hotel Miredames @€120 for the two January weekends.
That's pretty decent value! No booking fees, pay at hotel and free cancellation up to a day or so before arrival.
Looks like me & Jnr are going to Castres.

All the Hotels in the centre of Castres are fine its just there are very few of them, been in both of these they are really central , great value and so worth the effort.Slipper1 wrote:footrush wrote:Took a chance and pre reserved Hotel Riviere (1st choice) or Hotel Miredames (2nd choice) over all 6 weekends, these are two of the best value and most central Hotels in Castres, Hope we get there in December in time for the Christmas market, like we did in 2008/2009.

How do you typically get there, direct flights or a more circuitous route?footrush wrote:Took a chance and pre reserved Hotel Riviere (1st choice) or Hotel Miredames (2nd choice) over all 6 weekends, these are two of the best value and most central Hotels in Castres, Hope we get there in December in time for the Christmas market, like we did in 2008/2009.

Booked Dub > east Midlands > carcassone. Out Friday back monday.
If you are prepared to stay over in East midlands and get a redeye on Tuesday morning the flights cost 40 Juros return for Dub > EM and 61 Stirling return for EEM Carc. Total 115 Juros
We are coming back via Birmingham on the Monday night for more cash. Total 166 Juros
Booked Hotel Riviere for 3 nights. 26 Juros a night pps.

Looking forward to that bit in fairness. I like to make a weekend out of it rather than just in and out.
If you are going to spend a few hundred on getting there you might as well

The sport that unites Catholic, Protestant and dissenter has had its day of days. Pity anybody who can't enjoy it. Some day.
