Munster vs Leinster in Limerick - Day trip or overnighter?

Post by sheepshagger »

Bearing in mind the games on at 3pm on Wedensday 27 December ( a Bank holiday not a public one)

What do you think you'll do - a day trip (I'm assuming Killester or the like will be arranging one) or an overnighter???

Looked at some Hotels just now and Jurys want EUR 55 for a room whilst The Railway Hotel want EUR 45 odd

55 for Jury's isn't bad value, considering it's location and all that. Places like the Two Mile Inn would be cheaper, there's a Travelodge too, but Jurys is very central. I'd say any saving you'd make elsewhere would be wiped out in taxi costs etc..

Daytrip with bus would be ideal.

So many of my mates want to go down but I cant see any hope of them getting a ticket. Will we as STH be offered tickets?

They'll presumably go on sale on Ticketmaster so they'll have a chance to get them like anyone else?

Day trip for me. I'm thinking the train would be the best option, as the kick-off is early enough to ensure there'll be plenty of trains back.

If there's a bus, though, I'll probably be tempted.

Do the leinster branch not get an allocation as the away team?

Apparently so, but I wouldn't trust that route. I was screwed around by the branch for the match in Ravenhill last December. The branch decided to only supply those travelling on the bus to the match with tickets, despite telling me it wouldn't be a problem beforehand if I wasn't getting the bus. First interpro I'd missed since Connacht away in 03/04, and I'm still p'd off over it.

For the Connacht game this year, the branch apparently got no allocation - they probably didn't request them, which is a bit silly, as a number of people always travel for these matches, and unused tickets can be returned.

Should do. . have asked on the official site what the number is and if season ticket holders will get preference over the general public - will post up any reply I get.

Grrr for living in another pesky country, and for the MB to have the game on a normal working day, in working hours. Have to think how I'm going to sneak out of work for that one, and get to the pub.
