i've done a quick search on hotels and B&Bs in the area. I'll do something about where to go, what pubs and restaurants to go to / avoid like the plague, and general nightlife in my next installment.
I'll add this is by no means a definitive list! As I suggested above (if I didn't, I meant to!), there aren't really any hotels in Twickenham or Richmond, but nearby places (by bus / train / tube) are: Kew (it's about a mile's walk from Richmond, if you're feeling energetic / drunk!), Putney, Wandsworth (where I live), Clapham, Battersea, Hammersmith, Wimbledon, Kingston, St Margarets / Isleworth (more likely to get b&bs for these as they're quite small villages on the outskirts of Twickenham).
I've tried to include phone numbers / websites, if I haven't, google is a wonderful thing! I'm also not sure where the majority of you are flying into. i'd recommend Heathrow, but bear in mind, if you're going to Luton or Stanstead, they are on the outskirts of (north) London, so will take you about an hour to just get into town, and you won't have much change from about £20. Heathrow has the advantage, that you can get a bus into town (£1.50), and it's on the tube, so for about £5 you can also get into town. Gatwick has similar costs to Luton and Stanstead, as it's in Sussex, and isn't on the tube line.
Also, as I've lived in the area for years, I've never tried any of them out!
