Looking at driving over to Wasps on the Sat morning from Dublin thru either Holyhead or Pembroke.
Any one know how long it would take from either to High Wycombe?

Re: Ferries
Allow 5 to 6 hours from Holyhead depending whether you take the senic route (via the A5 over Snowdonia) or A55 (All Dual carriageway/Motorway). About 4 to 5 Hours from Pembroke/Fishguard, up M4 to Junc 8 then A404 to High Wycombe.harryp wrote:Looking at driving over to Wasps on the Sat morning from Dublin thru either Holyhead or Pembroke.

I did it from Holyhead in 4.30 without tanking it and stopped on the way to gas up. M6 toll road is brilliant.Royston Sole wrote:Holyhead - High Wycombe = 268 miles and 4 h 33 mins according to http://www.aaroadwatch.ie/routes/

I think it will be better that way. I will be interestedMAB wrote:I was looking at travelling out 9.30pm friday night and back Sunday 14.30. Cost aprox 300 Euro. Staying in a travelodge friday near Pembroke approx 45stg and somewhere inbetween sunday. might work out better than flying if more than 4 people in car. Also huge advantage of avoiding Dublin airport.

Took the Snowdonia route to Newport a couple of weeks ago - it's scenic but by God the roads aren't the best!Hornet wrote: Allow 5 to 6 hours from Holyhead depending whether you take the senic route (via the A5 over Snowdonia) or A55 (All Dual carriageway/Motorway). Brilliant Road on a Motorcycle. 3hrs 30mins Holyhead to Wycombe with a following wind and none of the 'blue flashing light' brigade.Leinsterman wrote:Took the Snowdonia route to Newport a couple of weeks ago - it's scenic but by God the roads aren't the best!Hornet wrote: Allow 5 to 6 hours from Holyhead depending whether you take the senic route (via the A5 over Snowdonia) or A55 (All Dual carriageway/Motorway).
