2010 6N

Post by AJB »

I see ST holders can enter a draw to win the privilege of buying 2010 6N tickets - Minimum 2 per game = €491.70 before you get a DART / Bus or Taxi to Croker let alone buy a pint !

With 3 x 6N and 4 x AUT INT and tickets costing €81.95 each (€76.00 + €5.95 Ticket b$&%@#d charge) Minimum 2 per game = €1147.30 to support Ireland at home in 2010

Are you sure each winner gets two for all three games? I assumed it was random game selection and each winner for two tickets for one game.

Jesus.

Hopefully they will stop discounting the tickets so heavily when we move back home across the river.

If they continue to keep the prices so low and old riff-raff will start watching out beloved game.

You don't have to apply for more all matches. You can cherry pick.

I think it's a bit of a shame that they're not allowing people apply for one ticket. I understand that they can't seat people together so it's necessary to apply for two but at the same time there are circumstances where people might only want one ticket. Getting them to apply for 2 is a good idea because most of the time that's what you want, but the option might have been nice.

I do like the fact that they're running the draw soon so people will know if they're successful. I can manage right before Christmas (hopefully).

Just rang the branch. You can enter for any or all matches. That means you can just go for Wales and possibly get 2 for that or go for all three and potentially win 2 for all three.

It seems to allow you pick 1 ticket, I presume that's an error in the system?

At €82 a pop, they can fecking keep them. €6 surcharge for a ticket you have to pick up yourself.

I was enough of a mug to pay this in the past, but no more.

I won't be buying them, and the days of charging ridiculous booking fees for tickets that aren't even posted out should be a thing of the past.

The Celtic Pyramid Scheme is over!

I hope enough people have the sense to boycott this bull-sh!t scam of a draw and try to get their tickets elsewhere. Tickets are a lot easier to get now and they'll probably find they don't get stuck with this rip-off ad-on fees.

Just heard that the Irish Supporters Club are selling a three ticket six nations package tomorrow with a total admin charge (for all three tickets) of €4.

The equivalent charge in Leinster will be €18 - €6 per ticket.

And I even think the Supporters Club sends the tickets out in the post!

Is not the date wrong on the TM site for the Wales game?

Lansdowne charged €6/ticket also IIRC

Personally, while I don't like the charge, I don't have a preference of it going to a club over the branch. The branch run all the summer camps for one thing - I'd have no problem with my cash funding that.

But it's going to Ticketmaster, not the branch.

My objection is that the seats are all behind the try line (or at least any seats i have ever got from LR have been) yet cost the same as ones on the half way line. I'll be passing this time.

but that charge goes to Ticketmaster, not the LB.

I know of one Munster Junior club that charges €7 on top of tickets for both Intl and Munster games, but it holds this money till the end of season to cover any tickets that it can not shift as it has to pay the IRFU regardless. The club was given extra tickets for the Austrailia game that it did not request, once all member requests were met, it was left with 90 tickets, they managed to get rid of them in the end.

I know of committee members from other clubs that have had to wait outside croke park till after kick off trying to offload tickets for games that are not in demand.

I'll warn you now Dan as someone who's seen them here 5 times, their fans can be a gobby, obnoxious lot. I find most 6N away supporters great fun and good people but for some reason I've never warmed to the Welsh fans. The repeated random acts of incontinence by one fan on the Nth terrace at Lansdowne a few years back may have been the clincher! :(
