Not bad. Slow to mid-tempo dirges are best for crowds: the “Fields”, etc. But Raglan Road requires a bit of timing- not sure we are up to that, unless led by an organised core group. Didn’t we use to have a choir?

I was always fond of The Minstrel Boy: the Thomas Moore song. Stuff about harps and all that which sort of touch on our emblems.

I think On Raglan Road is too hard to sing, and not well known enough. Fields of Athenry is a great song to have for a crowd because it's easy to time and sing in tune. I'm probably the least musical person alive and when bullied into singing at family events use Fields of Athenry as my go-to option because it's one of the hardest to butcher.

The semi-final also told you something in definitive terms - if Joey Carbery leaves Leinster to go to Munster his career will be over.
It is a matter of regret that Munster can't play the game like Scarlets, Glasgow or Leinster. They don't have the vision, the system or the skills.
Why ask Carbery to come down, ask him to play his natural game, then realise it doesn't suit Munster and mid-season ask him to change his style? It would be like putting a turbo-booster in a Zetor tractor.

Musicians are effeminate? Okay- that’s an interesting take. We won’t get into the essential presence of metal horns in Roman legions, the fife and drums as a constant in early modern armies, etc., etc.

The IT pick Leinster's best XV of the season today and left out Scott Fardy.

I know he was signed and started off the season as a second row and yet played most recently (primarily due to injury) at his original position in Australia as a 6 but he has been one of the players of this excellent season and much as I admire Rhys Ruddock who has had another season beset by injury there is no way he has been ahead of Fardy this season in terms of his contribution overall.

Bizarre. Rhys is magnificent but this year based on his injury absences and Fardy's brilliance he should not be in that team. Also Rob was injured for the 2011 Heineken Cup Final so has three medals not four.
