Ah for feck sake. At this rate it's just about making sure we're still in everything by December, at which point we should have'll hopefully be able to bring both Kearney's, Luke, SOB, Ruddock, Ryan, O'Malley and Boss. Not exactly sure of the timescales on all those guys, hopefully some of them will be back sooner, my point is just that we should get a big boost around Christmas. Hopefully the rest will do them all good and we'll finish the season strongly.

Difference between our dirt trackers this match and last year is this year we're missing Strauss, Boss, DK, Ruddock, Ryan (although Marshall has stepped up impressively at 6), Lukey, O'Malley, Dundon with injury, Cullen is being rationed too as he's on his last legs so that's a lot of quality players missing including 3 genuine leaders (Isa was ill too, Roux got injured in warm up and we lost two Lions players with injury early on). We have 2 guys who would have featured on ITM duty as well. That's eleven players missing injured/unavailable, 2 more stricken before the game, before IRFU player management that comes into it.

We got bushwhacked, a few players are getting found out but we are far from needing to panic. If we lose to Munster next week then we can panic

Defo a poor performance. With some players looking like they won't make it at this level. Injuries, yesterday and long term not helping at all. We were caught with very inexperienced players across the backline, at 9 and in the center. I'm not sure if Macken will make it. Though beaten up front didn't help young backline. In the end it was a very callow side that didn't perform but also wasn't helped with only one session this week and early injuries. We have played 40 players already which is crazy!

Next week should see our strongest side out however as usual it'll be their first outing together this season but nothing new there!

Terrible performance and result but let's not lose the run of ourselves this early in the season. I'm going to reserve my judgement for a month or so until after the Munster match and the first few rounds of the Heineken Cup.

Admirably optimistic, but the reality is we don't have the strength in depth we maybe thought we had and we're going to need that depth to replace the older guys and the inevitable big injuries.

We need to see much better leadership out there too.

What an arrogant, snide comment! Are you English?

Ironically, you're the arrogant arsehole with a comment like that.

Connacht were MORE depleted than Leinster in terms of first team players and gave us a good hockeying. Be a man about it and not a patronising little pr!ck by saying "not a real team", and if that is your attitude, I suggest you fu*k off to Limerick.

Show a bit of respect and don't drag down the tone of Leinster support by being an arrogant little sh*t that gives us a reputation. You should be wearing red not blue. In fact, I suspect one season without silverware and we wont be seeing you again anyway.

If you knew a thing about being a Leinster supporter you'd know to expect respect when you're not winning and show a bit of humility when you are.

To show out and out arrogance even in defeat makes you an emabarresment.

Jackass, You do realise that I didn't write those remarks about Connacht that have annoyed you? Alanair wrote them. They annoyed me too and in responding to them I upset Mikey for which I do apologise again for what it's worth. I've supported Leinster for years and found our defeat quite painful. But as a person whose ancestors from my parents back were from Connacht I found the comments about Connacht not being a team very patronising and insulting especially as they'd just given us a rugby lesson.

Hang on a minute, Jackass, you're making this nonsense worse. I didn't think the comment of the original poster Alanair (not Johnbb) deserved even the dignity to be replied to. But I can't accept you suggesting that denigrating Connacht is appropriate to Munster supporters. That's ridiculous. In my experience, most "red" supporters look to Connacht as their second team. If Alanair went onto the munstersfans site with his comments, he'd have had more people jumping down his throat than what happened here.

I was going to make the same point. No-one likes losing and it seems some posters felt the need to get it off their chests by using rather robust language. I don't agree with the expression of the sentiments but hopefully cooler heads will now take over and we can get back to discussing the rugby.

I didn't get to see the game (or the previous two) as I've been stateside for a few weeks but I get the impression (unmissable really) that the talents/performance of the squad are falling short of expectations. The situation reminds me of those surrounding Man Utd when AF was doing his in-out footsie and the subsequent decline in performances that year. Ok, so the situation is not identical but has JS committed to leading Leinster next season or not?

Most worryingly of all is the prospect of Heino matches against Scarlets & Clermont before we get a lot of our top guys back by Christmas. This could be a below average year and we may not even qualify from Heino Pool (hope I'm wrong!). The pressure and expections of fans seem to rise year on year (especially the 'fly by night' ones) which means the team get pilloried when they lose. Friday was a shockingly bad performance and we certainly have not set the world alight this season but I think we are seeing the downside of the IRFU player management which means very limited experience in selections for the early season matches. We were railroaded by a team (without a number of their best players) who were simply up for it far more then we were. Hopefully like the AB's we will take on revenge on whoever is next (poor Munster!) just as they did when Ireland had the cheek to almost draw with them in June. Roll on Aviva!! :)
