Re: Thank you Isa
Asked what put his team ahead of the rest of Europe, Cullen replied: “A little bit of everything.
"The desire levels are there. We’re lucky we’ve got a great group of coaches, putting a huge amount of work in to make sure it gets better.
"Some great leaders as well. How we go without Isa is going to be a big challenge. He's such a key figure.
"Someone's going to have to step up now because he's an amazing individual.
"I couldn’t put into put into words how special he is in terms of his influence on the group, on the club. That’s something we need to figure out".

Peg leg, presumably under the influence of winning, sent him a message after the final in Bilbao via(withheld).....suffice to say it's brilliant. Bet yet was his response.
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

Yeah, what a legend. I'm still allowed talk about him, just not to him or be within 50M of his person outside of match days.paddyor wrote:Peg leg, presumably under the influence of winning, sent him a message after the final in Bilbao via(withheld).....suffice to say it's brilliant. I think I sent him a message at 00:45 after the final, the mad goose replied at 09:30 sunday morning.
In my defence we exchanged details the week Isa left on retirement after I sent a DM to thank him, wish him well etc to which he replied. This message was the 2nd message I sent and judging by his response he was happy ro receive it. And finally for posterity, please let it be known that I have never been in contact with any other player, this is not typical behaviour on my part.

Re: Thank you Isa
Could be wrong on this but didn't he play 10 in a game or two at the very start of his (1st) Leinster career?brotheroffrank wrote:Oldschoolsocks wrote:Surely 9 as wellPeg Leg wrote:Just realised that we're going to have to retire a lot of jersey numbers when he goes... 11, 12, 14 & 15

Re: Thank you Isa
Fave Isa moment?
The Leicester try?
Catching the ball on his hip against Clermont in the Aviva?
That hit on ROG?
The kick and try in Montpellier?
The step and score against Ulster?
The score from 9 against Castres?
Or maybe one of the tackles?
Oh sweet jesus the tackles...
What a pure Leinster legend.

Re: Thank you Isa
It might not make the highlight reel but I think it would actually be the way he stepped up against Exeter in the Aviva. Everything was going terribly in what would have been a very typical Leinster way before he arrived in 2008, but despite being 35 and on one leg, he just wasn't prepared to let that happen. I think that just really summed him up.
So many to choose from though!

Re: Thank you Isa
The hit on Chabal in the RDS anyone? I think Chabal had just put in a big hit on Jamie and it was like Isa was proving a point.
Re: Thank you Isa
Chabal disappeared from the game after that, if I remember it right.molloyjh wrote:The hit on Chabal in the RDS anyone? I think Chabal had just put in a big hit on Jamie and it was like Isa was proving a point.

Yeah so, if someone could just make that vid of all those highlights and post here, that'd be great.

The problem with Isa is the deserved gratitude can not be paid enough.
He is a major part of what turned us into what Leinster Rugby is today.
