Perhaps the saving on Heaslip's wages. Also lets not forget BOD is retiring this year, which must free up some cash.Degz wrote:Does this mean there has been movement on the Heineken Cup argument? Can't see where the money would come from otherwise.
Anyhow, who gives a fupp, delighted.

There will be a Hcup next year. The French are taking part and the WRU will, in the event of the current regions aligning with the AP, centrally contract players and form new regions.Degz wrote:Does this mean there has been movement on the Heineken Cup argument? One wonders if his trip to Toulon over the weekend had much influence over the IRFU's decision?promsandwich wrote:One wanders if his current injury and the Irish player management programme had much influence over his decision?
Great news anyway.

Great news for Leinster ( grrrrr) and Irish rugby.
Probably a good decision for SOB as well who with the Irish player management system will certainly elongate his career.

Good man Seanie. Great player. Wouldn't want him playing for anyone but Leinster and Ireland.

Good to see SOB listening to and taking ROG's advice.
Re: O'Brien signs with IRFU
YESSS! Get in!!THANK YOU Sean O'Brien!!!
A very special mention to the work of the IRFU too. Someone said if either of the lads sign they'll get no credit, but I give them credit, they fought for the man, got the signature and for once got a positive outcome for Leinster, which I'm very greatful for.

We won't be seeing Strauss for the rest of the season either!
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014
