Injury Outlook

Post by Backplay »

The Harlequins game showed how the injury count is having a serious impact on Leinster's ability to perfrom at the level we've come to expect e.g Jack McGrath having to put in so many playing minutes with Healy being absent, Strauss not available as an impact sub, etc.

Anybody have the possible return dates for the players that are 'hors de combat'

Cian Healy
Richardt Strauss
Shane Jennings
Fergus McFadden
Dave Kearney
Sean O'Brien
Gordon D'arcy
Kevin McLaughlin
Marty Moore
Ben T'eo
Rhys Ruddock

Cian Healy 6N
Richardt Strauss don't get the impression he is badly injured but you never know with the current regimes heightened secrecy factor.
Shane Jennings Ready now.
Fergus McFadden Possibly for the last HC game or 2 more likely Feb
Dave Kearney See Strauss
Sean O'Brien 6N. Though he is said to be ahead of schedule and has been training for a while now
Gordon D'arcy See Strauss Just a calf strain
Kevin McLaughlin Ready now.
Marty Moore January HC Games
Ben T'eo Next week or 2
Rhys Ruddock He played on Saturday. did he go off injured?

Wasn't Jennings meant to be back nearly a month ago? Haven't heard anything about him since.

And Ruddock hurt his arm on Saturday, had it in a sling on the bench. Not sure how serious it is but doubt we'll see him over the next few weeks anyway.

Cheers johng - Ruddock had his arm in a sling after he came off on Saturday so it doesn't look good. We've really been missing the ball carrying abilities of players like Healy and SOB. Getting T'eo back will help I think (although Lukie was great at 13 on Saturday). Add in Strauss, Jennings, D Kearney, McLaughlin and we at least have more options for the 3 upcoming interpros....

A lot of important players due back into the pack (especially the front row).

Should give us more depth and make a real difference.

Will certainly make the kick chase more interesting for the coming months :)

This is the thing, our front row is out on it's feet after the 1st 10mins of every match because they're flat out doing the beep test between the 10M lines on the pitch!
Let's see, how can we take some of our best ground hogs (cronin/strauss/JMcG) out of the game completely????

Ah, bugger. Extended game time might bring Jordi up to speed.

In fairness. 6 is the spot where we have the most options in the squad.

McLaughlin, Murphy, Ryan, Conan, Marshall, Leavy. We should be ok out of that lot. :)

Kevin McLaughlin has apparently gone under shoulder surgery and will be out for about 3 months.

If he didn't have bad luck the guy would have no luck at all. :(

Terrible for Kev but with any luck he will be back sooner rather than later. Shame as the guy really needed a run in the side to show his worth before rhys and sean are back and ready to go.

Hope Jamie's injury heals in time for Wasps. AC joint injuries; particularly if any labral tear present can take a while depending on extent. Never know what to believe these days from the injury/squad updates. Jack C has been great - but to lose Jamie for the trip to Ricoh would be a major blow.

I assume this has been posted elsewhere, but it appears ZK is out for a month with a fractured shin.
