Hayden Triggs is getting close to being back as is Mick Kearney, Jack Conan is three to four weeks and Ed Byrne, Gav Thornbury are little bit longer.

To think some people were suggesting Munster might be able to take Bent...idiots.

Mike Mac ruled out for the season according to Joe. That's a big blow.

SOB & DK out for rest of 6N.

Horrible news. Hopefully, like Johnny, he'll come back ok but that will stretch our resources in 2nd row. His priority though should be his long term health.
The sport that unites Catholic, Protestant and dissenter has had its day of days. Pity anybody who can't enjoy it. Some day.

Gerry Thornley 23/3/09. 'Nuff said.

Hopefully explains why Molony is being rested (it's not an injury). Molony has some amount of minutes under his belt for a player still in the academy.
Toner 806
MaCarthy 777
Molony 649

Hasn't looked out of place at all either, granted not all against the same level of opposition. With MacCarthy out, he'll be in line for more starts.

Terrible news about Mike. Was having his best season for Leinster but with his history of concussions, they're doing the right thing standing him down.

If he makes it to next season without complications

Has probably been first on Leo's teamsheet this season and gave several demonstrations of how aggressive defending by a big man can set the tone for a match, or even, a half. On various occasions this Season in particular, he has shot up on some unsuspecting opponent and hammered him with a big aggressive hit. He still has 10m of sprint and hits like a true No 6 and nobody could enjoy taking those tackles. Really tough luck on him to lose the rest of the seasons to a freak collision with a team-mate.

All the best for a full recovery.

His injury must provide serious opportunity for Kearney, Triggs, and possibly even Ryan, before the end of the Season. Kearney's season may only be starting now, but he becomes a vital part of the picture for upcoming games if he can: a) lock out our scrum; b) produce quality No 2 line-out ball; and c) be capable of 80 mins by the end of the 6N, so that we can rotate Molony, Dev and Triggs, depending on who we face and how much game-time Dev and Molony have available.

The prospect of Ryan's use is intriguing. If he was an AB, I've no doubt they would look at his inclusion in a Summer Tour party in order to fast-track his introduction to international rugby. With his role as Captain of U.20's and IRFU policy of priority of JWC for all players eligible for that level, it's unlikely that he will be selected for National Tour to SA. From a Leinster perspective however, I'd love to see him in Leo's Squad plans from mid-March onwards, as he maintains his inexorable progress towards the senior international team.

JACK CONAN IS likely to miss the remainder of the season after breaking a bone in his foot for the second time in the space of five months.
The Leinster number eight sustained the injury in training last week and will be sidelined for up to four weeks.
It’s another setback for Conan in a season which has been plagued by injuries.
The 23-year-old was sidelined for 10 weeks after breaking a bone in his other foot in a freak training ground accident last November.
“Unfortunately Jack can’t seem to get any luck,” Girvan Dempsey said this afternoon.
“Jack injured his foot and broke a bone and he’s in a cast for three to four weeks so he’ll be out of action.”
Conan made his return against Cardiff Blues in February but was then dealt another injury blow when he was forced to pull out of Leinster’s trip to Zebre a couple of weeks ago.
There was, however, better news on the injury front for Luke Fitzgerald, Rob Kearney and Marty Moore.
Fitzgerald returned to training with Leinster last week and Dempsey confirmed the winger would be in contention for the weekend’s inter-pro against Connacht.
Luke Fitzgerald Fitzgerald is nearing a return to full fitness after missing the Six Nations.
Saturday’s clash in Galway will come too soon for Kearney and Moore but both are expected to play some part in the Pro12 run-in – although Sean O’Brien remains a number of weeks away from action.
“We’re hopeful we’ll get some of the Ireland lads back but we won’t really know until tomorrow,” Dempsey continued.
“They’ll start filtering in from tomorrow onwards for the rest of the week so we’re hopeful we’ll get a good number of them back for the weekend.
“At the moment we just have to wait and sift through the bodies but as far as I’m aware they all came through the weekend pretty much unscathed just see how they rock up tomorrow.”

Luke Fitz (stinger) and Cian (back) both expected to be fit for Saturday

Sexton had niggles left over from the 6 Nations but is expected to be available also.

Dooley was down getting treatment at one stage over on the Grandstand side, assume he picked up a knock. Think Rhys took a bang to the head, but he didn't look too shook going off. Ditto McFadden.

Good stuff. Best injury profile we've had for a while coming to the end of the season I reckon. Getting SOB back would be brilliant now.
