Shane Jennings retiring.

Post by goreyguy »

At the end of the season.

One hell of a servant and player, hope he isn't lost to the game.

Another Leinster legend retiring. Played a huge role in Leinsters recent success. He'll be badly missed. Thanks Jenno

Thanks for everything Shane. Looking forward to the cheer you get when you lead out the team on Friday. Well deserved.

The return of Leo and Jenno was perhaps the biggest factor in turning us from nearly men into European Champions.

Would be amazed if he doesn't move into coaching. A natural leader, one that players of all personalities and abilities would follow.

Looking forward to the rest of his career.

One of the all time Leinster greats in my opinion. Never forget him catapulting Heaslip over the line for that try at Murrifield. In the immortal words of Joni Mitchell "Don't it always seem to go, you don't know what you've got till it's gone". All the Best Jenno. Thanks for the memories. :happy clapper:

''In that time he has won three Heineken Cups, three Celtic League titles and an Amlin Challenge Cup.

He also has an English Premiership winners medal from his two years with Leicester Tigers.''

Not a shabby haul for his trophy cabinet. Gutted to see Shane go and wish him all the best. Thanks for all the hard yards.

After his appearance on Off The Ball I hope he gets more media gigs.

A total bollix in the pitch...and I'm not sure there's a higher compliment than that. As hard as nails and one of the smartest and hardest working players around. That chop tackle of his is a thing of beauty. Just one of those guys who who you loved to have in your team.

By all accounts he's a top guy off the pitch (was great on the tragic documentary about Donal Walsh) and he's been superb whenever I've heard him on the radio recently, extremely articulate and knowledgeable so hope he keeps that up if he's not too busy with coaching, which I really hope he goes into.

All the best Shane and thanks for everything!

This unsung hero of Leinster Rugby isn't moving into coaching, unfortunately.

One of our all time greats. As Dc said, without him and Leo, who knows if we'd have ever hit the heights that we did.

Thanks for everything Shane, it'll never be forgotten

Absolute legend in Leinster, a superb servant over the years. Never quite managed to take his opportunities at international level, probably should have been given more chances though, always Mr. Reliable and a top class player. Best of luck to him in his future endeavors and thanks for the massive contribution he made over the years.

A true Leinster hero if ever there was one. I hope his values, what he stood for and what the club meant to him are passed on to at least some of the next generation. You don't come across leaders like Jenno every day of the week and his presence around the squad will be sorely missed I'm sure.

All the best Jenno, thanks for everything you've given and best of luck for the future.

Up there with Bod and Heaslip as my favourite Leinster players. Great guy. Fairly sure we could have gotten another year out of him. Maybe even two. But like Denis Hickie before him (Who was a couple of years younger) It is his decision, and we can't say he hasn't given it all and achieved it all. He owes us nothing!

Legend!
