He didn't. He couldn't make the Bristol side so was farmed out to Moseley on loan. His contract is up now and won't be renewed
pants, know he played most of their B & I games last games so was working off that

Bristol had a fairly strong/experienced back 3 corps but feel bad for the guy as I dont think he got a fair crack of the whip here, not to dredge up old arguments

At least he has an ex Irish international wing (Maggs) as coach at Mosely

That's the 3rd time of asking for them after play-off defeats by L Welsh and Worcester but owners have deep pockets and Andy Robinson has been around the block as a top-level coach. They could become another Gloucester or Exeter and suddenly West Country rugby, adding Bath to the mix, is beginning to look like its historic strength as the centre of English rugby power.

Wasps qua Coventry, Leicester and Saints only need the resurrection of Moseley and the top-level map of English rugby will look like it did in the 60's, 70's and 80s
I thought Jack did well in the loose but he seemed to get schooled in the scrums, certainly gave away two penalties while I was watching. I thought it was a huge loss when he left but with McGrath, Dooley, Healy and Byrne I think we wouldn't have been able to give him game time. He'd be perfect type of player for Connacht.

No harm having a few lads abroad getting experienced. And very few on that list that you would be weeping bitter tears in anguish about.

if true (from Woods) then Ealing are throwing serious money around

minor quibble but some inclusions in the list are BS: George McGuigan is England capped, McGinty is obviously USA capped, Scholes but especially Allen have expressed their intention to declare for Scotland

cant find original article but one of the English papers had a piece on how Championship clubs are moving away from their own academies and just picking up guys from Premiership underage systems

They may want to play for Scotland but Scotland would scarcely be interested?

That's an impressive and very useful list. One very small point. Sean O'Brien is from Clarinbridge co Galway. He may have gone to school in Roscrea but is a Galway boy.

I said players who played leinster schools or club.. didn't say where they were from.

Sean O'Brien played leinster schools rugby so I included him.

Fair enough. Thanks for the list anyway. Makes interesting reading.
Hard to get established Leinster players to move provinces but that list shows a lot of lads who missed out on Leinster academy going to other provinces and a few of them getting capped for Ireland

Players who were in Leinster Academy:

Gavin Thornbury(Lock/Blackrock) -> dev deal
John Cooney(Scrumhalf/Gonzaga) -> senior contract
Ian Keatley(Outhalf/Belvedere) -> 1 year
Steve Crosbie(Outhalf/St. Gerards) -> dev deal
Tom Farrell(Centre/Castleknock) -> full academy
Andrew Conway(Back Three/Blackrock) -> senior contract
Cian Kelleher(Back Three/St. Michaels) -> full academy
Jack Power(Fullback/Blackrock) -> 1 year

Most of the others got a sub academy go but weren't offered a leinster academy deal.

Madser got another kick assist and kicked over 10 points (missed a couple of touchline conversions I think).

Delighted for Cooney. Always rated him for us and was sad when he left. Move to Connacht didn't work out, but he could be in the right place at the right time with Ulster.

So 21 players at Connacht from the Leinster system? Kind of undermines the "they come over here stealing all our players" argument doesn't it?

To be fair, 5 of those are Connacht lads who went to Leinster schools, and Kelleher was probably the only one signed directly from Leinster against Leinster's wishes.

5?

SOB, Dave Heffernan and Denis Buckley are the only "Connacht lads", who didn't play for Leinster underage teams that are at Connacht.

I just meant Connacht born, so Brennan and McKeon. To be honest I assumed McKeon was from Galway because he's Eoin's cousin, which is obviously not correct.
