Season Ticket 2016/17

Post by Dave Cahill »

Leinster Rugby have this afternoon launched their 2016/17 Season Ticket offering to current Season Ticket Holders and have also announced a number of new initiatives for the season ahead.

There will be no price increase in any seat category for the 2016/17 season and furthermore in recognition of the loyal support of current season ticket holders a two year price lock has also been announced for those that commit now.

Speaking to leinsterrugby.ie, the Head of Commercial and Marketing with Leinster Rugby, Paul Dermody said,

"This is very positive news for the nearly 12,000 Season Ticket Holders that we already have.

"Over the last 12 months we have taken on board the views of our Season Ticket Holders and have also been in consultation with key stakeholders like the Official Leinster Supporters Club and we feel that the offering for next season is very competitive at a time when there is huge plans for Leinster Rugby on the field and indeed the RDS Arena off the field.

"We feel that we are at a point where we can reward our supporters and we feel that the package of benefits that accompany your Season Ticket is worth shouting about.

"First and foremost we appreciate the support of the 11,894 Season Ticket Holders that we already have and there will be no price increase on the ticket they purchased last year and we can promise them no increase in the Season Ticket price for the next two seasons if they come on board early."

He also gave an update on progress with regard to the redevelopment of the RDS Arena and changes to the plans as originally outlined in particular with regard to a cover for the North and South Stands.

"Over the next six months the RDS intend to submit the planning application for the new RDS Arena. As part of its plans the RDS is also examining the feasibility of covering the North and South Stands, something that our support base have been very vocal about.

"Leinster Rugby is in a really good place on the pitch with some of the brightest, best and rising stars of Irish Rugby and we want Leinster supporters and rugby supporters in general to see just what Leinster has to offer."

The new Leinster Rugby Season Ticket offering includes:
No change to prices from 2015/16 apart from the student ticket which is now cheaper (€129 down from €179)
Price lock for the next two seasons for 2015/16 season ticket holders that renew before 21st March
Interest free payment plan options
Priority purchase for 2017/18
Exclusive gift pack in association with Canterbury of New Zealand
Season Ticket renewals open this morning for existing Season Ticket Holders and will remain open until the 21st March and during this window current holders will have the option of keeping their current seats.

The public sale will start on Saturday, 2nd April - the day of the Munster game in the Guinness PRO12 in the Aviva Stadium - and an 'Early Bird' offer will be available until the 3rd June.

A dedicated website has been created to facilitate enquiries at leinsterseasontickets.ie and that is also live as of this morning.
The payment options are good, all up front, half now - half later, or over 10 installments.

Noticed this "Entry to home Leinster 'A' friendly matches". Wonder does this mean no free entry to B&I group matches going forward

Edit:
Panic over. Speeding reading is a curse - "Entry to all home pool matches in the British & Irish Cup" :D

Think it is more reiterating the fact that we will not get free entry to first team pre season friendlies like most other clubs do

A two year lock on season prices if renew current seats.

I had planned on changing our seats for next season - this will make me think twice.
Surely there wont be any massive price increases in two seasons time? Maybe a few euros?

Renewed.

The price freeze is interesting Does it mean that the redevelopment is off the table until post the 2017/2018 season?

Doubt that. More likely is locking in STH's in Angelsea Stand before breaking the news to them that they will displaced to elsewhere during re-devellopment. Also recognise the reality that professional sport is a cash-flow business. Getting advance income is a key element in improving cash-flow. Never assume that money-men in pro-sport are being altruistic. Ask Liverpool fans!

Are you suggesting a walk out at 77min :D ? How would we know who is 'protesting' and who fancies getting to their cars before the crowd?

That was the way they did the main stand in Ravenhill, we paid full price for the season out to the end to get roughly our old seat back in the rebuilt stand when complete then a further year price freeze

Talk to the ticket office - I'm sure the intention is to have people renew and they are not too bothered if you want to change seats. Generally if you get on to them they are very good at accommodating this type of thing
I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

Is there a way of avoiding the dreaded ticketmaster charge this year?

Fairly sure last year was the last year of it, think they gave some discount last year if you had previously paid by cheque but were now having to pay the ticketmaster fee. But from this year there was to be no way to avoid ticketmaster fee.
