Speaking English honestly is what I call it. There is no need to say he is an age now he will be in the future. *** Edited by mod ***

"Exaggerating" would be a more diplomatic term 433, or maybe just "rounding-up". If someone was say , 88 years old, one might say "yer man's nearly 90!" They wouldn't be lying now would they?

Stating that Mike Ross will be nearing 37 next season is a fact.

Your original post didn't state "next season" though GG.

this thread is about next season.

even still it remains a fact, because as every minute of the day passes Mike Ross nears closer and closer to being 37 years of age.

We've had this before lads/lassies. He's one age until he's another.

Can we sing happy birthday to Mike after we've said goodbye to Bossy?

- Dooley has shown he has what it takes and is definitely number two on form this season, but I am sure we are all hoping to get the 2012 Healy back. He's still only 28, so very young for a prop. His conditioning and frame need a rethink.
- At hooker, I would really go horses for courses. If we need a tight and reliable set piece for 80 minutes, there is a strong argument for looking beyond Cronin. By the way, I didn't see many people saying goodbye to Dundon, who is leaving at the end of the season, and who I always thought was an unsung hero and a very reliable performer...possibly our most reliable thrower.
- If Ross starts (and you would hope his re-signing was because he is physically able to), then of course Furlong is on the bench. If Furlong starts, then who do you have as a tighthead sub? Answers on a postcard please.
I'd have to plug for McGrath/Cronin/Furlong
With a run of games and time to blend I think it has to makings of a tasty all action front row that with the minutes could forge a solid set piece
Also I'd second your sentiments about Dundon, never left the side down and had some really great games in last few years......

Going to go with a FR of McGrath/Cronin/Furlong
All action combo that we are looking for, and with the ministers together could forge a solid set piece and I just think that combo offers so much potential in attack which is an area we are struggling
Obviously Healy/Strauss in the mix big time especially if Cronin can't hit the darts, but again with the minutes and time id be confident he can
In general he's been good this year.....

Cronin's darts are another reason we need a skills coach for next season.

I'm not arguing against it at all but kind of surprised with the amount of votes for Ross

I thought he's thrown well this year....Munster game in the Aviva seemed to be total lineout Mis-function
Other than that pretty solid
But open to correction.....

I would be arguing it, he's 57 nearly!!!
I know it's a side track but why in gods name was Moore let go
Big mike has been hit and miss this year and Furlong doesn't look like the done deal YET but it's the worst bit of business leinster have done in years letting Marty go
In my humble opinion

He has been and continues to be the best tighthead prop in Ireland. Furlong isn't as good at the fundamentals of propping as Ross is, and a tighthead prop who is only good at his fundamentals is better than a tighthead prop who is only good at everything else.

Not going to argue against any of that either :D

putting my Ireland (2019) hat on though Furlong needs to start in SA (or get 35 mins a game) and/or the AIs and for the latter and then probably the 6n he needs to start for Leinster often

Cardiff and Connacht also off top of my head. There were more earlier in the year too. Cronin has shown regularly that he's a liability from touch.
I'd rather solid Strauss than Cronin who might make a huge run but will very likely mess up a few lineouts.
