Re: European Rugby Champions Cup
We play 3rd best runner up, assuming Racing win, looks like it'll be Saracens.

Nah, if Ulster win and Metro win it'll be one of Toulon or Racing.COYBIB wrote:We play 3rd best runner up, assuming Racing win, looks like it'll be Saracens.

You really think Ulster will win in Coventry? I’d be delighted if they did.wixfjord wrote:Nah, if Ulster win and Metro win it'll be one of Toulon or Racing.COYBIB wrote:We play 3rd best runner up, assuming Racing win, looks like it'll be Saracens.

Prediction time:
Leinster (27)
Clermont (22)
Munster (21)
La Rochelle (21)
Scarlets (21)
Ulster (21)
Toulon (19)
Racing (19)
Leaving it:
Leinster v Racing
Clermont v Toulon
Munster v Ulster
La Rochelle v Scarlets
Big imponderable there is whether Ulster can get the win.
If they don't, I think that would leave it
Leinster
Clermont
Munster
La Rochelle
Scarlets
Toulon
Racing
Saracens
and
Leinster Saracens
Clermont v Racing
Munster v Toulon
La Rochelle Scarlets

A draw or two BPs would also see Ulster thru too.wixfjord wrote:Prediction time:

The La Rochelle v Scarlets is the toughest one to call.
Clerment v Racing could be close too.

Fair point. If nothing else though he will get plenty of gametime.FLIP wrote:I hope for his sake they actually make use of his skills.artaneboy wrote:Beirne should have MOTM again. Great stuff from him for a second week in a row. Munster are getting a gem.

Saracens would be a nice ticket seller, we can decide whose house the away fans stay in nearer the time. Think BT have first dibs though? Sky would hyp the effin bejeesus out of this fixture

Great win for the Scarlets, they dogged that one out in the 2nd half, and that makes it all the more impressive. Big crowd, big win. Could this be a turning point for that club. Maybe more locals will realise that they have a fantastic team.
Toulon also qualified btw, 2 teams from a group with an Italian team in it. Some things never change.

And yet Treviso ran a lot of teams quite close they were deserving of their spotblockhead wrote:Great win for the Scarlets, they dogged that one out in the 2nd half, and that makes it all the more impressive. Re: European Rugby Champions Cup
If Ulster and Racing both lose, (and Munster and LR win) I think we have Ulster at home in the QF, with Sarries off to Clermont. Is that right?

Re: European Rugby Champions Cup
Yes, unless in that scenario Ulster lose 5 - 0 to Wasps. Then we'd face Wasps again. Or if Ulster somehow picked up two bonus points in defeat. Then we'd play Saracens.Grumpy Old Man wrote:If Ulster and Racing both lose, (and Munster and LR win) I think we have Ulster at home in the QF, with Sarries off to Clermont. Is that right?

Luck can play a big part in this tournament, the weather looks awful at a few grounds today. Thomond pitch will be a bog soon. Haven't seen the Ricoh yet but apparently it's awful there too and it was already in a dreadful state when I saw a Wasps game there recently. Hopefully that means that Wasps won't be too interested but it's impossible to know with these things.

Re: European Rugby Champions Cup
And as I type that, the Munster match is moved to 4pm!
Re: European Rugby Champions Cup
Big ask I know for Ulster to get 5 points today but if they did they would get a home QF. Assuming Munster get 5 points then all 4 provinces would have home QFs.
That would be loike, sooo amazing.

No offence to anyone here but Ulster at home would be a gimme of a quarter final

Re: European Rugby Champions Cup
Really! Are they allowed to postpone just one match of the final round? thought it was a condition that the final group games all took place concurrently. To avoid any perception of collusion.rooster wrote:Cute hoors want to see how our match is going.LeRouxIsPHat wrote:And as I type that, the Munster match is moved to 4pm!
