Best of luck Luke. Thanks for an all-to-short career which still saw you picking up almost every gong there was. It was frustrating and sad to watch those repeated injury breakdowns. I think we all know it wasn't going to end well, but still a shock to hear it this morning.

Thanks Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuke! I'll miss saying that. You were one of the greatest players I had the privilege of watching regularly during a period of greatness.

Luke's last game for Ireland may have been a loss but he came on and not only suddenly made our attack work but also put a bite into our defense. That's the kind of player.

So much done and so much more you could have done. I hope the drive that made you come back again and again doesn't leave too much of a toll on your future.

You will always be a hero to Leinster supporters.

Seen this picture yesterday and thought it encapsulates Luke's Rugby career in one photo.

He looks like he's going right but he's actually going left. :D

What a step he had! :happy clapper:

On his day our best back of the pro era after Drico and D'Arcy. Incredible natural talent.

Steve Thompson springs to mind

I dont see it though, Luke was injury plagued rather than just one bad one

Wonder will he do more for sky and/or tg4?

Gavin Cummisky speculating that he has signed a deal with Eir/Setanta.

Interesting

Slight tangent but I reckon theyll make a big play for more broadcast rights, especially pro12

As mentioned in another thread, the eirSport (includes the old Setanta channels plus all BT Sports channels) package will be free to all eirBroadband customers.

The company formally known as Eircom rebranded to become Eir last September. All their products (home phone, mobile, broadband, tv) are now prefixed with Eir. e.g. Eircom broadband is now Eirbroadband.

In case not seen and you've not used all your Irish Times clicks, Luke's exit interview with Cummiskey http://www.irishtimes.com/sport/rugby/m ... -1.2711545
All very sad but clearly the right thing to do.

Pretty sure it was just before.
