It's a real pity that our home game against Connacht won't be a full blooded affair given that Ireland will be in Chicago the weekend after.

Nah, its a good thing, if there are any injuries in the Irish squad Joe can use the game for them to get some rehab in.

Treviso aside the first 6 games will give us a really good idea of where we are (going)

First time we've started the league with a home game since September 2007. 2pm is an early enough kick-off time for the Munster match at the Aviva.

The last 3 games are by no means easy, wouldn't want to need a couple of 5 pointer wins from this lot to secure a home playoff

Friday, 14th Apr, Connacht v Leinster, Sportsground, 19.35 (TG4)
Wk/end 28th Apr, Leinster v Glasgow Warriors, RDS Arena
Saturday, 6th May, Ulster v Leinster, Kingspan Stadium, 17.15

I'd say most antipodeans of his vintage know who they are - most probably played for them at some stage!

Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

They're absolutely c~*k-a-whoop about the lack of sunday games from what I can see - it was their second biggest problem with the Pro12 (after the micks)

Ulster got all their home games bar one on Friday nights, Munster only got 2 home Friday night games; seems like a lot of smart/adaptive scheduling

with the exception of New Year's Day the only Sunday game is Dragons v Edinburgh

EDIT I see it's not just us

Add in the previous game against Ospreys and you have a run-in that will be very difficult to pick up bonus points or indeed wins! We are going to have to collect wins and points from the first game and throughout the season. Top four means no more than 7 losses, probably 70 points and certainly ten tries more than last Season.

Bit of a random question here. I'm a Canadian looking to visit Europe and see some matches. I'll be in Rome for the Italy/Ireland 6nations on Feb 11th. Leinster are playing Benneton on either the 10/11/12th. Based on experience, do they usually play the pro 12 match on the Sunday if there is an international that weekend? I'd love to catch a Leinster match since I'll be close enough to get there.

While, as a Canadian, I'm sure that Treviso (near Venice) and Rome seem relatively close together, they are over 500km apart and there are no guarantees that getting from one to the other will be a simple matter even if the Treviso-Leinster is played on a Sunday. It could easily be played on the Friday evening.

As a Canadian, I think it"s funny that you think 500km is far! Yeah, Transportation could be tricky but doable. I think a Sunday fixture would be easier. Fingers crossed!

ffs I think Bray is far.

Nowhere on our island is 500k from anywhere else

I am toying with the idea of going to both games myself.
