No Ed Byrne, anyone know what his status is?
Think Heaslip is getting married on Saturday, wonder if that affected selection!

Any chance some kindly soul could perhaps Periscope the match for those of us that can't make it?

Really hope that Cullen gives the young lads a good few minutes and the likes of Porter, Abdaladze and Daly see some serious gametime.

Is Abdaladze being converted to a tighthead? Can't imagine either Porter or Dooley are. It'll be interesting to see how Sean McNulty goes this year, very sizeable hooker for an Irish team to have. Really hope Leavy steps up this year and has a massive year, putting big pressure and the players in front of him.

Ferg will probably be captain; would that be a first for him?

Re: Leinster v Ulster Sat 13th August
Given the sheer amount of players and the unknown variables predicting a team is pretty pointless. Having said that, here is what I'd like to see:
Porter
Byrne
Vakh
McCarthy
Nagle
Leavy
VDF
Conan
McCarthy
Daly
O'Loughlin
Morris
Byrne
Kirchner
Porter

Vakh
McCarthy
Nagle
Leavy
VDF
Conan
McCarthy
Daly
O'Loughlin
Morris
Byrne
Kirchner

Re: Leinster v Ulster Sat 13th August
Yes Heaslip wedding is Saturday. I'd say Fergs priority is to get on a pitch rather than attend a wedding. Given the list of Leinster players attending the wedding, yes it effected team selection. Granted a good part are injured anyway.

I wasn't being serious.

Vakh was converted to TH two seasons ago by Contarf, its where he got a chance with Ireland u20.erskinechilders wrote:Is Abdaladze being converted to a tighthead? Re: Leinster v Ulster Sat 13th August
Depending on which Byrne you are referring to, that will either leave us an outhalf or a winger short...depending on your player order as well (Daly is your 10 right now and O'Loughlin your 11).arsebiscuits1 wrote:Given the sheer amount of players and the unknown variables predicting a team is pretty pointless. Based on the squad, I think our selection will be pretty meaningless beyond getting some guys into the shirt and running around, so I'd like to see our new signings run around a bit too; it would be interesting to see what kind of shape Morris and Nagle are actually in and if they will be actually central squad members this season.

Opportunity for the young guys without too much pressure !!!
They will be the future. Learning curve. Will be great to see Porter, Dooley, Nagle, Morris get a run out. Should be an exciting match. Looking forward to it.

Interesting that Conan is skipper and Byrne ahead of Carberry
No McCarthy is somewhat ominous
