Might as well get up and running....

Can you still buy match tickets in Spar? or anywhere else? Every time I have to get additional tickets from TM there's an extra fiver for service charges.
Ticketexchange is a good idea but doesn't always have the ones you might want.

Really looking forward to this in a blindly optimistic, new season kinda way.

Couldn't even hazard a guess at what the team will be but hopefully Leo is aiming for max points from this, it's a nice little gimme at the start of the season.
The odds are good but the goods are odd.

I'd be very excited to see how that team would go. A lot of mobility in that pack. Hopefully, this is the year Leavy makes his breakthrough.

The sport that unites Catholic, Protestant and dissenter has had its day of days. Pity anybody who can't enjoy it. Some day.

It's back, thank you dear lord it's back. The official end to the silly season. Looking forward to this year more than a few in the recent past.

yeah am feeling the same way, dont think anyone has ever looked forward so much to a team announcement for a Treviso game, lots of intereting calls to be made but we have more than enough for the BP here, Treviso have a backrow and a 9 and thats it to be worried about

I'd be unsure of Nacewa's availability based on him

Theres a distinct whiff of WTS about it.

There is also an element of this not just being our first Pro12 game, its also being treated as our last warmup game as well to a certain extent.

I'm really looking forward to Leavy and VDF competing with each other this year and that's without even bringing SOB into the mix because I just can't imagine him being available very often.

Any chance of Cronin playing in this game? He only got 19 minutes off the bench in South Africa.
Look out Itchy, he's Irish

This. When Leinster say "we'll see later in the week" that means the player won't feature this week. When they say " we hope to have them available this week" that means they won't be available this week. When they say "they are in the mix this week" means they are not available this week. Hell, even when they say definitively that someone is available that can't be taken to mean that they actually are.

I reckon we'll see:

Healy Tracy Bent
Molony Triggs
Ryan VDF Leavy

McGrath Byrne
Reid Kirchner
Ringrose Kearney McFadden

Cronin, Dooley, Loughman, McCarthy, Timmins, JGP, Carbery, O'Loughlin

Although I could have the calls at 10 totally wrong and we could see Marsh starting. JGP might be in with a shot as well.

Would be a bit like having Gleeson & Jennings or Jennings & SOB

Leo said they get tourists back starting this game so youd imagine so

13. Kirchner, 14. Ringrose strikes me as a bit of a dead-end selection. Would they really go with this alignment in the biggest games? Does Ringrose's future really lie on the wing?

Think I'd go with Daly and Ringrose in the centre myself.

I'd say if Cronin is fit/available he'll start with Glasgow next week, game time is needed
Also I'd say the same about Jordi, again if available
Porter for the LH sub spot potentially aswel, he's had 2 impressive cameo

Treviso always have a scrum. We MUST have a specialist Tight-Head Lock and Triggs doesn't make the cut.

Di Marchi only name in their front row corps at all, Cian Healy and Bent between the 2 of them have more international caps than any front row Treviso can assemble

But in general am with you big time on needing Kearney or McCarthy at 5

1 Healy
2 Tracy
3 Bent
4 Triggs
5 Molony
6 Ryan
7 vdF
8 Leavy

9 JGP
10 Marsh
11 Byrne
12 Reid
13 Ringrose
14 McFadden
15 Kearney

16 Byrne
17 Dooley
18 Loughman
19 McCarthy
20 Timmins
21 McCarthy
22 Carbery
23 Kirchner

It should be an interesting battle between McGrath and JGP this season but based on the limited pre-season I don’t expect McGrath to be included on Friday.

I’d be more than a little irritated if Ringrose is put on the wing and Zane at 13. I appreciate Zane may end up playing there a fair bit this season but Ringrose should be our first choice 13 when available and he’s available.

I’d be a tad worried if Mike McCarthy had to play anything more than a half but he could certainly do with match fitness.

All in all, that’s a team that should be sticking a big score on Treviso.
