Great news and well deserved. He's a cornerstone of our pack. Jamie gets the attention for being made of indestructium but Big Dev isn't far behind, which is amazing considering his long levers, weight and the minuted per game he racks up.

He's right up there on my list of favourite players. Really hope he gets to be a Lion. It's unlikely because of the competition, but he absolutely deserves it. As I said in another thread, just look at his CV over the last few years.

Great news. Said it last season that if he could convert to TH lock he'd go on to win another 30+ Ireland caps and both scrums have been quite well with him there so far in the 16/17 season. His head hasn't looked as oversized to his body this season either seems to have put on a few pounds that he's carrying well. Never really appreciated by other fans, he was a huge loss in the P12 final last season IMO.

Delighted! Don't know what they get paid but himself and Jamie have been great value for money for both Leinster and Ireland

A little eulogy for Dev would be nice.
The stuff about the Lions belongs in the other thread.
The impressive performances of both the Leinster and Irish packs are due in no small measure to the coming of age of Dev in the last couple of seasons.
He is a physically imposing figure on the field of play.
Not just big but skilful and athletic too.
Long live king Dev.
