Re: BBC northern Ireland rugby
Ryle Nugent is one of the best Commentator's in rugby. Best RTE has had for sure.
You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

1 is a pristine stool had after three weeks hanging out Tibetan monks eating nothing but green leaves, radishes and the occasional broccoli floret.
10 is the one your alcoholic college mate after a feed of parsnips and turkey washed down with a bottle and a half of buckfast and actually did break your jacks. A gnarled , purplish dark brown brute of a thing.
Ward would rank about 7 on that scale with Franno on 9 and frankie on 9.15.
Ryle would sit at about 4.5

George Hamilton should stick to the soccer.
Whos' yer man that sometimes does 'analysis' during 6 Nation matches on RTÉ. They show him in a room with lots of screens, usually pointing out a specific play. Awfully whiny voice on him. But the Welsh lad who does secondary commentary for BBC is the worts.

Re: BBC northern Ireland rugby
Hamilton's "rugby knowledge" tends to be facts and tidbits about players. I think he learns a few for each game and repeats them a few times in the game. Like where one player was born, and another player that has a famous parent etc.
