You need something rousing. Not a dirge. At least welcome to the jungle and thunderstruck are a bit lively.

Ps. When I saw this thread i thought the players were walking out on us or something.

U2 have some pretty rousing intro's. Not their biggest fan but some of the instrumental wind ups on POP are great. Like mofo or discotheque. Daddy's gonna pay for your crashed car on zooropa could appeal to the D4 folk.

We should play Maniac 2000 after we score. There's no song more Irish than that.

Leinster should get Sean, the Byrne twins and Tom Daly to record a medley of Richie Kavanagh's finest musical moments

Would love if they went with something like Rocky Road to Dublin, but doubt that would happen.
I think Thin Lizzy would be a good shout. The Boys are Back in Town or Jailbreak

That was a piss take to be honest and including Stop the world should have given it away.

Dave Cahill wrote:Yep, in a league with 6 and a bit British teams its nice to run out to a song about Britannia's Huns with their long range guns.

I like the song, but there is such a thing as making appropriate choices.
Ah go away with the PC BS, there's not a national anthem out there that does not make reference to some sort of victory or getting one over a traditional enemy.
If you play that game, it descends into farce at a rapid pace, for example welcome to the Jungle (great song) celebrates addiction to all the worlds favourite vices, "if you got the money honey we got your disease", hardly an appropriate choice for a family atmosphere if you want to go all PC. AC/DC another Leinster favourite purveyors of the most sexist and misogynist lyrics around (I'm a big fan by the way), although "let me cut your cake with my knife" is a little unsettling.

In any case, I don't think we'll get complaints for a historical reference or two from the Welsh and Scots who "sent Edwards army home to think again"

"Back In Black"

Back in black I hit the sack
I've been too long I'm glad to be back
Yes I am
Let loose from the noose
That's kept me hanging about
I kept looking at the sky cause it's gettin' me high
Forget the hearse cause I'll never die
I got nine lives cat's eyes
Abusin' every one of them and runnin' wild
Cause I'm back
Yes I'm back
Well I'm back
Yes I'm back
Well I'm back back
Well I'm back in black
Yes I'm back in black
Back in the back of a Cadillac
Number one with a bullet I'm a power pack
Yes I am
In a bang with the gang
They've got to catch me if they want me to hang
Cause I'm back on the track and I'm beatin' the flack
Nobody's gonna get me on another rap
So look at me now I'm just makin' my play
Don't try to push your luck just get out of my way
Cause I'm back
Yes I'm back
Well I'm back
Yes I'm back
Well I'm back back
Well I'm back in black
Yes I'm back in black

Well I'm back yes I'm back
Well I'm back yes I'm back
Well I'm back back
Well I'm back in black
Yes I'm back in black

Ho yeah
Oh yeah
Yes I am
Oh yeah, yeah oh yeah
Back in now

Well I'm back, I'm back
Back, (I'm back)
Back, (I'm back)
Back, (I'm back)
Back, (I'm back)
Back
Back in black
Yes I'm back in black

Outta sight

Yes indeed kids, don't try this at home.

What would Hollywood wives make of this one. Like a good old fashioned song from the time of heavier censorship, no actual profanity but plenty to get your teeth into if you decided too.

Thunder
I was caught
In the middle of a railroad track (thunder)
I looked round
And I knew there was no turning back (thunder)
My mind raced
And I thought what could I do (thunder)
And I knew
There was no help, no help from you (thunder)

Sound of the drums
Beatin' in my heart

The thunder of guns
Tore me apart
You've been thunderstruck

Rode down the highway
Broke the limit, we hit the town
Went down to Texas, yeah Texas
And we had some fun
We met some girls
Some dancers who gave a good time
Broke all the rules, played all the fools
Yeah, yeah, they, they, they blew our minds

I was shakin' at the knees
Could I come again please?
Yeah the ladies were too kind
You've been thunderstruck, thunderstruck
Yeah yeah yeah, thunderstruck

Yeah
Oh, thunderstruck, yeah
Now we're shaking at the knees
Could I come again please?

Thunderstruck, thunderstruck
Yeah yeah yeah, thunderstruck
Thunderstruck, yeah, yeah, yeah

Said yeah, it's alright
We're doing fine
Yeah, it's alright
We're doing fine
(So fine)

Thunderstruck, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Thunderstruck, thunderstruck, thunderstruck
Whoa baby, baby, thunderstruck
You've been thunderstruck, thunderstruck
Thunderstruck, thunderstruck, thunderstruck
You've been thunderstruck

Some call it PC, some call it not being deliberately rude or offensive.

The chorusy bit from U2's Magnificent - the bit that goes Magnificent, Oh, oh, Magnificent would be a great clip after each Leinster try

Of course, but I thought (leaving music aside) the idea of a match marketed for each county is actually a good one

They used to do that, presume they still do. Not on a county basis, more on an area basis. All clubs/schools/groups are entitled to discount tickets through the One Province and One Club ticketing initiatives
