If they'd stayed in Co.Meath, none of them would be anywhere near as good as they are now, especially in terms of skills and attacking vision. It's sad but that's the way it is.

Equally, I'd be willing to bet that in Ireland, Jordie would have been forced to play as an undersized second row or blindside flanker (he's 6'5"), and with Beauden's physical attributes he probably would have been shifted to centre or the back three.
i'd wager what position they ended up in all depended on where they went to school..

So, Henshaw and Ringrose out until Christmas.
Sexton and O'Brien presumably won't be around much at the start of the season either.
What a downer.

3 of our 5 Lions injured has to be a record.

Apparently O'Brien has been tearing around the pubs of NZ having a great time. Apparently he said he felt he lost some power. Hopefully it's not too bad.
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014
England A 8 - 14 Ireland A, 25th Jan 2014
Ruddock(c) 19/2 Tackles

He seemed to "lose power" for the 4 years after the last Lions tour and only regain his peak (over a consistent run of games) for this tour.
Hopefully, this loss of power doesn't take as long to recover from.

Losing both Henshaw & Ringrose is extremely bad luck, don't think many teams could survive losing both their first and second choice centre, especially when they are at this calibre. I'd recommend signing a medical joker just till December (if he is Irish maybe consider keeping him if he has done well). I would go for Sheridan who has just left Oyonnax.

Think we now should push for a signing at Centre. Even just a temp until xmas.
Then keep sign him up full time and exceed our quotas.
It's happened before.
You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

If they'd stayed in Co. Meath they would be preparing for a match in the all Ireland qualifier series after losing to Kildare.

Newsflash: Meath are out of the qualifiers too.

If we were Munster, we'd be allowed to sign a Springbok and an All Black.
But, yeah, we clearly need a top level centre and, given the IRFU is responsible, they should be actively helping us recruit one.

Wait until Keaneo get's loose on his Kiwi contacts.

Heenan already qualified. McCartney and AKi this year.

I think the remaining 3 Dawai, Boshoff and Ili are all out of contract next June. The first 2 of which can never qualify for Ireland.

Sure there will be some new arrivals

No thanks. Overrated thug.

How about getting Giteau out of retirement? He's not that old. Could we get AACooper away from Japan?
Do the Kinds or Cheetahs have any good centres we could tempt?

Or we back the talented centres in the academy to step up in the short term, somehow I think this is more likely.

Thought I heard that OK. The old relying on WIKI for squad info mistake.

He did originally sign until 2018

So that just leaves Dawai and Ili as their NIQ players?

It's just a rumour based on vague "inspirational" tweets he has posted.

Boschoff left for family reasons

Giteau would be savage
AAC might fight with BOD too much

If we weren't allowed sign an outhalf last year when we didn't have a single senior outhalf available, we aren't going to be allowed sign a centre when we have at least three on hand

Did we actually ask last season?

Of course there was a view here that there was no need for any cover. Byrne and Carberry stayed fit and we were spared the worse case scenario. I note there's already a post that 'we'll be grand...'
