Favourite Leinster matches to rewatch
I was looking to rewatch some Leinster classics, was wondering if any of you fine people would have any suggestions?

Clermont in Bordeaux and Toulouse in the Aviva are probably my two favourites. Probably the two games that that side reached their zenith.

Cardiff in Lansdowne Road in the 2012 HC QF.
We were unplayable for 50 mins and scored that classic set piece try. Just a joy to watch.

Was the 08 game the super BoD try with the volley?cormac wrote:Leinster v Clermont Dec 2010 The Freezer in the Aviva.

They were all big games but would you really want to watch them all again? The Stoop? Sure, it was the making of the team, but it wasn't great viewing for the neutral.Grumpy Old Man wrote:Toulouse HC QF 2006

I'd fine tune your list:
Toulouse HC QF 2006
HC SF 2009
HC QF, SF, Final 2011 (I might leave out the QF, even though we scored a couple of doozies)
HC SF 2012
I personally found some of our games in the 2013 season to be really entertaining in terms of rugby played. All the knock-out games of the Amlin were woshkabomy stuff.

Leinster v Munster in the league in 09/10 - the 30-0 one
Can I raise a practical question at this point? Are we gonna do "Stonehenge" tomorrow?
Re: Favourite Leinster matches to rewatch
I'll add 22-9 vs Leicester in 07-08, when they'd almost done a clean sweep the year before. 43-20 vs Saracens 10-11, the 38-22, 11-36 double vs Racing also 10-11. 30-0 vs Munster 2009-10. 35-23 vs Bath 06.

Leinster 30 - 0 Munster
RDS, Oct 3rd 2009
Great evening on the terrace. Such a pity those games are played in the Aviva now

It's a fair point about the neutral viewer but it did have "bloodgate" and was one of the tensest matches I have ever been at.curates_egg wrote:They were all big games but would you really want to watch them all again? I'd also add the Celtic League final in 2001 to the list.

One of the best atmospheres ever in the RDS IMO. So good that GT was complaining about it being too hostile...even though it was pretty much exactly the same the previous time in Limerick.maps wrote:Leinster 30 - 0 Munster

Except that it wasn't Thornley, it was David Kelly and Sean Diffley (who wasn't even at the game)

OK. I though Thornley had a little whinge too, but it doesn't really matter.Dave Cahill wrote:Except that it wasn't Thornley, it was David Kelly and Sean Diffley (who wasn't even at the game)
