Jaysus, what was that?!
For first 20 minutes we were awful, for second 20 we were dominant. Bar that mental decision from Lacey we'd be ahead.
This game is there for the taking.

Need a bit more from JGP, brainless at times.

If the scrum is moving forward and the ball is at the number eight's feet, why does he have to "use it"?

Disadvantaged for having a dominant scrum and leads to conceding a score. Great law amendment!!

Ultimately, because the Ref said so.

The ref believed that the scrum had stopped - now I don't think it had and he got it wrong, but I also don't think it matters.

If the ref says use it, you use it.

And that's the bottom line; cause Lacey said so

Agreed, still infuriating though. I presume Jack couldn't hear him.

Rest/tactical I'd say. He's on the sideline grand anyway.

And in fairness, you can't argue Leavy's inclusion. He's so consistent.
Leinster really mixing some good play with some awful play.

Few kickable penalties turned down too. Should have taken he last one anyways.

Absurd. The law requiring you to use the ball when the scrum is static makes perfect sense, as penalty-hunting fat French packs had a habit of leaving it at the 8's feet for a full 30 seconds before eventually eking forward a metre and going down for the 3 points. But for the ref to call it when you're going forward is a joke. If Leinster don't win this game, they've thrown it away.
