Pat was the Leinster PRO in the early days of professional rugby before he moved on to do the same job with Munster. The North Kildare man was a superb professional and handled both jobs with an expertise borne out of his own deep rugby knowledge. Pat understood what fans wanted, what players and coaches could give and what the IRFU could live with.
Off the pitch, few contributed more than Pat in building the Munster brand to the level it acheived in the period. He was knowledgeable, courteous and very effective, with a great memory for names and faces. He also minded Refs and Touchjudges really well and ensured that they were never subjected to some of the personal grief they got in other grounds after a game.
Another great rugby man gone too early. Prayers and thoughts with his family and club mates in North Kildare. Rest in Peace

Didn't know the man, but sounds like one of those people who are only appreciated by the public when they are gone and what they add is missed.
