He had a great 2nd half. The poor old Con outhalf stepped into a tackle by Baird that he wont forget. But I thought Pim was the better 2nd row in the 1st half.

Interestingly Trinity had 8 U20's in their team (Turner & Clarkson were rested) and they physically dominated the encounter. The scrum was the only part of the game where Cork Con had an upper hand. These guys do not need 4 years to mature any more, they are close to fully developed 1 or 2 years out of school.

If he stays injury free I'd be surprised if he isn't starting on the U20's in the World Cup.
Never argue with an idiot. Someone looking on may not be able tell the difference

Trinity will probably be screwed over by this Cara Cup... Pim not being involved with Leinster this season was always an odd one to me.

Agreed on Baird starting for 20's.

Have to think Kearney will be out for a while. Jack Dunne had 28 tackles in a little over a half. Impressive, that's taking your chances. Hope he gets more of them soon.

Mick Kearney was given oxygen and the way he was holding his arm looked like it may be broken. Leo said in the post match interview that he thought it was his shoulder but wasn't sure. It's a pity because he was really good when coming on against Ulster and started brightly last night. Dev was a reserve last night in the warm up. Apparently Ross Molony has a back issue that is taking longer than expected to clear up.

You'd have to think Kearney getting injured kinda puts paid to the notion of omitting Fardy for the Toulouse game.

Dunne stepping up is good news if Kearney does end up leaving at the end of the season.

Dunne seems to have overtaken Dowling, which on one hand isn't that surprising although it is quicker than expected.

20-year-old Jack Dunne off the bench for Leinster vs. Benetton:

44 minutes, 28 tackles, 1 lineout steal, 2 lineout wins, 1 breakdown turnover pen, 3 carries, 1 offload.

If he made 25 fewer tackles and 1 less offload he could be an option at 6 for Ireland.

Could be interesting to see who he plays against Ulster this week presuming Fardo, Dev and Ryan are rested and Kearney and Molony injured.

Mick K has played his last game in blue unfortunately.

Such a shame that he and Reid are leaving after their best seasons in blue.

In fairness both are out of contract and it would take 2 injuries to get them into the match day 23 for a big game. Also plenty of young lads coming through to cover the loss. Best of luck to them, Mick K is Connacht I presume

Reid has 21 appearances this season.

Losing 2 locks in a World Cup year is a bit strange, but there is some young talent coming through.

We'll lose 2 for internationals but in Fardy and Molony we have strong players. Seems like good news for Dunne and Dowling.

I wonder will we see Charlie Ryan come into the Academy and get senior time in his first year.

I’d be surprised if he didn’t really, also I’d say Dowling will get a senior contract as I don’t see his starting the season with only 4 senior second row options. I haven’t been inspired by Josh playing there this year.

Baird really impressed me with his cameo at the weekend. Very strong carrier with good feet. Looks athletic too. Needs a bit of bulk but that's to be expected.
