Montpelier match January

Post by Caliphi »

You couldn’t make his up!
Got email from Leinster Rugby advising that tickets for Montpelier match are now available, with a closing date of 5pm on Dec 12th, and advising where in ground to sit.
So far so good. BUT date and time of match will not be announced until at earliest Dec 16th.
Who is going to buy a ticket when they have no idea when the match is on, and how they can get to it. What a c~*k up. No wonder the ground will be even emptier than is now usual, as the locals are underwhelmed with Montpelier

It's the same thing every year, rounds 5 & 6 fixtures aren't confirmed until round 4 is over. Sure who cares about fans who may want to travel or make plans!

Almost always is: French cnuts and their craven kowtowing to TV.
It's a direct train ride for me but, if it's at 4 on a Sunday, it's a no-go.

I seem to remember lunching there the last time on a Sunday hungover after the game. Did we play them on a Saturday?
Great night out in any case.

Hi,

The suggestion from Leinster was to go for the "Eden Park Centrale Droite" section.
I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

Same every year for rounds 5 & 6. If you are getting the charter it will always go out the night before, back evening of the game. Once the date is announced I'd say there is a decent chance Ryanair might put on day flights.... possibly

Otherwise, Aer Lingus to Lyon on Friday back Monday is your only other real (close) option short of going in via Paris.

Anyone know when the Montpellier details will be released this week? Slightly annoying that ticket sales through our ticketmaster accounts for this ended last week
The odds are good but the goods are odd.

Nice and Barcelona both normally have plenty of flights at a decent price
Both are about 3 1/2 hour drives from Montpellier or about double Carcassonne which is closest
Lyon is also about the same distance as Nice and Barcelona and there is a very good train connection
Once the match time is released Aer Lingus will jack up the price of the suitable Lyon flights but this won’t happen to the same extent for Barcelona or Nice because of the competition on the routes

Did it via Nice and train last year. This year have gone for the Gatwick Montpellier option. Flew the route in the summer and back from Nice. Fairly painless and cheap too. Out Friday lunchtime and back Monday afternoon. Always a big choice of Dub Gatwick flights.

Garwick option more expensive now than when you booked it though

50 euros return on the 12th of October. Was dearer when I looked at it earlier. 65 I think
