Is 44 phases a record for Leinster?

This will be a game of keep ball. I'd imagine we'll try to hold onto the ball as much as possible, so could be a few guys really puffing by the end.
Well we fairly stuck to that game plan!
Brilliantly professional performance.

McGrath, Fardy, Furlong and Conan pick of the bunch for me.
Our backs were fairly toothless, but that was to be expected. You couldn't pick two better wingers to ruck and carry close in than Isa and Ferg though!
Hopefully Rhys isn't too bad.

Great win! I'd say the players are exhausted after that one. There were a good few errors but we were dominant overall and managed to lift it when we needed. To be able to move through the gears against a team like Exeter is really impressive, always felt we'd get a score if we needed one.
Furlong was outstanding. Jack McGrath was great off the bench, never stopped looking for the ball and making hard yards. Dev and SOB really grew into it in the second half, as did Conan.
I can't remember another game which required as much effort and yet looked so comfortable.

Thought Ferg came into it really well in the last quarter. He may not have been getting close to the box kicks but he involved himself in everything and the time when he covered across for Nowell's kick was excellent.wixfjord wrote:McGrath, Fardy, Furlong and Conan pick of the bunch for me.

We decided to win by overpowering then this week and did so- not just because it was the right tactic for this match, but because it will allow us to play a more expansive match next week and go for the 4 tries.

It has a two foot (24") chain too, just to make it a bit more interesting.

ISA needs to stop kicking away possession.

Watched on a decent stream, which wisely cut out at half time and the final whistle. Who got MOTM? Would be Furlong for me, he is some animal.
Am I right in thinking that Exeter come to Dublin needing 5 points? They've got no BPs so far. It will make next week really interesting.

That was the biggest acheivement. Beating the Premiership Champs at their game on their ground!
Ireland out-flanking the English in diplomacy was nearly enough for one weekend but, giving such a disciplined attacking performance from 1 - 12 and beating the pride of the West Country and Devon and Cornwall at their own game on their own patch was superb.
A great coaching approach and a fantastic execution by the players. Lots of little elements which took time to have effect, but we really nailed it with the confidence to stay with our game plan.
Almost consider it an obsenity to name a MOTM after that team display.

We'll be lucky next week to win, we'll be tired and they'll be out for revenge.artaneboy wrote:We decided to win by overpowering then this week and did so- not just because it was the right tactic for this match, but because it will allow us to play a more expansive match next week and go for the 4 tries.

Forgot to mention we should have had a bonus point out of that, both first half disallowed efforts were clear tries!
