Would genuinely be interested in seeing how the schoos handle it

Kielys owners seem really naive by their quotes and not very litigation savvy by their actions

According to the guy who took the footage and put it up on the social media, the Kiely's bouncers handled the situation very well i.e. didn't overreact and were a calming influence.

According to the guy who took the footage and put it up on the social media, the Kiely's bouncers handled the situation very well i.e. didn't overreact and were a calming influence.

I got the impression it was bar staff only from the article? Owner said him and barstaff sic including his sons tried to intervene outside and some were hit

This is part supposition but any of no bouncers/not serving in plastic glasses/letting anyone drink or take drinks outside was asking for trouble. Especially the last one.
Barstaff intervening in a street fight is a potential litigation nightmare too (not saying theyre morally wrong for doing that)

It's feckin 5 o clock on a weekday evening in Donnybrook after a schools cup game. Hardly 'asking for trouble' to do any of that!

As for the gobshites that started it, too many Heinos and got too pumped up singing the school songs obviously.

As previously, this has very little, if anything, to do with the Schools per se. The usual form is that recent past pupils get liquid lunches and gee each other up with interaction on social media and then head to D'brook. Depending on the result and nature of the contest, the verbals may spill over into the physical.

A few years since the last time, but definitely not unique.

And fancy schools can still turn out plenty of knobs

Letting people especially that age especially lads who have been drinking cans etc half the day mix in with your customers just outside your premises is a really bad idea

Have worked in city centre venues long enough and often enough to have seen that repeatedly eg when Dame Lane was basically one amalgamated beer garden

I'd say there are only a select few schools that would get that worked up about their schools - and they happen to be fee paying rugby schools.

I was in Annabels for that. That night was crazed in general, saw one guy throw all the glasses off a table and he only got a warning from security ffs. Going by statements in court they got nowhere near all the assailants either
