Can’t concede 5 tries and expect to win
Very poor to lose that game
3 vital points thrown way needlessly

You're right.LeRouxIsPHat wrote:I think he did, they wouldn't have tried the kick if they didn't have advantage. How do you take a kick off that you 100% have to retain and kick it with low trajectory, low and towards the sideline? Bizarre stuff.
Re: Edinburgh v Leinster Myreside Friday 7:35
With such a dominant pack, we should have walked that game. We found new and interesting ways to give tries away.
Fardy was immense, Deegan was very good and Daly was the only one in the backline to have any impact. Dave Kearney picked a bad time to have the worst game of his career and the halves were awful. Backline had no shape whatsoever.

Wasn’t saying he was biased and in fairness he gave every angle.
It was very poor game management at the end of game

Thought both SHs were good. It got weak further out in the back line.Donny B. wrote:With such a dominant pack, we should have walked that game. We found new and interesting ways to give tries away.

Re: Edinburgh v Leinster Myreside Friday 7:35
The tries we conceded were just so poor.
First one was the block down and I thought our chase was very poor regardless of how unlikely we were to catch him.
Second one was DK running sideways and giving them the chance to swarm him before having the ball ripped really easily.
Third stemmed from a really stupid penalty from Bent.
Fourth was dreadful defence in the back field in terms of both positioning and tackling.
Then an unnecessary high tackle that gave them the advantage and we seemed to switch off a bit.
I thought we'd cut out some of the shitty mistakes after HT but no joy. Apart from the tries in the second half Edinburgh didn't do much, we should have closed that out easily.

Still scratching my head.
In front and 76 mins gone and in possession why didn't we just keep going down the blind side and run down the clock.
I don't get it, that is basic, simple % rugby
Maybe we need a bookie on the books to explain how it works.

The choice to kick down the line was the right one at the time. Very difficult to keep a ball for 4 mins.Oldschool wrote:Still scratching my head.

No we came infield, got turned over and coughed up a peno.wixfjord wrote:The choice to kick down the line was the right one at the time. Very difficult to keep a ball for 4 mins.Oldschool wrote:Still scratching my head.

Keep going blind and even the peno, if conceded, is a much tighter kick.
Just mind boggling shyte tbh.

100% with you OS. Whatever about what went before; we were 2 ahead 4 to play scrum in their half and Luke takes a hi risk play if I recall by breaking forward. No need for it - we're ahead. Should have been 8 ball up the blindside ruck after ruck. No reason why we couldnt at least have the play in their half for those 4 mins.

Haven't seen the match yet.
Unlucky or poor or both?
Any positives?

Hard to say really. We gifted three tries, made stupid mistakes. Dominated in the forwards- yet our back play was poor.hope not expectation wrote:Haven't seen the match yet.

Got what we deserved, I suppose.

One thing that annoyed me re reffing is seeing our scrum marching them forward being told to "use it" no matter how many times I hear it being called these days I still don't like it, but yeah we were shite, still between call ups and injuries we must be down about 25 players?
