Leinster Vs Scarlets Sat 17th Feb 15.15 Sky Sports

Post by outcast eddie »

Here we go then, a pinch-point in the season.

The spine of this team will most likely resemble what we saw at the weekend which is good news as the forwards went well and this is borne out by the possession and territory stats from Myreside.
So, 1 - 8 as you were although there may be a slim chance of Jordi being available and an even slimmer chance of Seanie togging out.
Fardy has proven to be valuable enough to warrant a preservation order but not for these two Scarlets games.
I would like to see someone other than JGP at 9 to allow 'Crazyhorse' some game time.
RB is nailed on at 10 and BD at 11.
We need Isa in midfield (but where is he?) and RO'L (who hasn't hit the heights of last year yet) at outside centre.
Ferg again at 14 and I'd be inclined to give DK another run out at FB (contentious I know) unless we get JL back from Irl.

Would we get Joey for the bench just to get him some game time?
Will Ringer be available?

Given the result Treviso had against a denuded Scarlets we should expect a win here. They will have more of their Wales players back by the time we go over there so lets make the most of this.
The odds are good but the goods are odd.

reckon we could see Joey at 10 and Jordan at 15 with nugget at 2 for game time

I'd go with...

Ed Byrne
Cronin
Bent
Molony
Fardy
Josh Murphy
Jordi
Deegan
Luke
Joey
Daly
Reid
Rol
Ferg
Larmour

Strauss (could easily switch the hookers depending on how much time Cronin needs)
Dooley
Heffernan
Kearney
Connors
McCarthy
Ross Byrne
Adam Byrne

Obviously if Isa or Ringrose are fit then that changes things.

Reckon we'll see something like:
Dooley, Cronin, Bent, Molony, Fardy, Josh, Jordi, Deegan, McGrath, Carbery, Lowe, Isa, ROL, Ferg, Larmour
Byrne, Strauss, Heffernan, Kearney, Connors, McCarthy, Byrne, Daly

Pack was excellent at the weekend, and I reckon we'll get Joey and Larmour back.

Oh I cocked that up. I put Nick on the bench so that Lowe could start but then left him out.

Think they're pencilled in for the Kings game (certainly Ringrose anyway).

The sport that unites Catholic, Protestant and dissenter has had its day of days. Pity anybody who can't enjoy it. Some day.

That's what I'd like to see. Ross Byrne doesn't deserve a starting position after his substandard performance vs Edinburgh, IMO.
