Ryan/Porter not being available are not a surprise.

Yes we were never likely to have either Ryan or Porter for this game, so that’s hardly a loss.

It's in games like these that academy players can really announce themselves as talents for the future. I'd love to see the next Leavy/Furlong/Carberry/Ringrose/Ryan/Larmour announce themselves. These are the games where you can start to build a little bit of hype.

Midfield is a huge relief!

Could be a game to give DK his confidence back, good to rest Fardy, and interesting Nic McCarthy starts (even with Frawley making his first start) which suggests that Lowe may be in consideration for European time.

Just noticed that JT is benching. Excellent to have him back too.

Bit of a mix and match team, hopefully a few guys in the pack can step up to the mark.

Where did Adam Coyle come out of? Heffernan injured?

I've noticed Coyle with them for a few weeks. He went to Edinburgh too.

Pity Heffernan got dropped but he got completely schooled last week. If there is any game to blood a young tighthead, this is probably it
He's gotten awfully fond of that brick

Great to see Isa back, also some significant returns form injury for Ringrose and Tracy. What a day for the Byrne brother, Frawley and Coyle.

Which one? Harsh bit of shade there.

Isa and Garry :D

Interesting team, I wonder if some players are dropped or just rotated? I get why we've made changes but hope we don't lose out on continuity for the Scarlets game. If Adam is dropped then it's hard to see him getting back in any time soon, don't mind Larmour benching though. Really don't want him to be used too much so benching for Ireland two weeks ago and then benching against the Kings after two consecutive mixed performances sounds good to me.

I was expecting a horrible performance but that centre pairing has me more confident that we'll perform pretty well. The Kings on a Friday night where there's serious competition for the crowd to watch other games means it might still be a bit of damp squib though really.

Anyway, hope DK has a stormer and looking forward to seeing more of McCarthy. I'm half expecting Deegan to run the show with both his carrying and his handling.

I wouldn't read anything into our European selection (in 6 weeks) from this selection against one of the worst sides in the league at home.

Seeing Isa and Ringrose there is a major boost alright. Makes it all the more comfortable a time to start Frawley (and McCarthy).

I would echo the musings on Coyle and if Heffernan is dropped.
Our unsung hero Bent has serious expectation resting on him over the coming weeks though. When will he get a break?

Coyle looked good for the U20s a few years back. Very solid scrummager but was a bit out of shape then. Good to see him get a chance.
