With immediate effect.

Very sad day. Wish him well for the future.
Really and truly a Leinster legend.
Very few have given more to the cause than him. What a talented, brave and durable player.

True Leinster and Ireland hero. So many highlights. So much success.

Best of luck Jamie in your future projects; no doubt you will be as successful as you were in the blue and green jerseys.

That's awful news. One of the greatest 8s to wear blue and green.

No doubt he'll excel in whatever else he's about to throw himself into.

Very Sad that he had to go out this way, especial for someone so durable throughout his career.

Easily the greatest no.8 we’ve ever produced nobody can hold a candle to his achievements on the pitch both as an individual performer and part of the best Irish and Leinster teams I’ve had the pleasure of watching. A real leader on the pitch and despite what all his detractors say he always performed at such a high level and managed to be so flexible that he gave balance to many an “unbalanced” backrow.

A fitting and accurate epitaph of his phenomenal career.

Sad that he isn't able to go out on his own terms but a legend. But who will the turnips down south blame now when Ireland lose a game.

End of an era but what a player. In my book playing along side BO'D for as long as he did often meant that he didn't get the recognition he deserved as the spotlight rightly shone on No.13 but Jamie was truly world class and a true leader.

Thanks for all Jamie & best of luck in the future.

Has been coming for awhile. Hope he is still around the group for the rest of the season.

Legend barely scratches the surface. So many memories.

Thanks Jamie/Logan

Awesome player. I was always confident when he was on the field. He's also a great example to players who didn't "get it all" early, as he had to bide his time for his chance in green.

Ah b*ll*x! Gutted but his long term health has to come first.

One of the best I've ever seen.

Sad day :(

1 Grand Slam
3 Six Nations
3 HEC
3 League titles
2 Triple Crowns
1 Challenge Cup
1 Lions series win

95 Ireland caps
5 Lions caps
229 Leinster caps

And I'm STILL disappointed for him. Brilliant player.
