You'd want Newcastle, the best team in Europe, in your group?

Thought Saracens were the best team in Europe and the World on recent form ?.

I'd imagine the final will be Sarries vs Newcastle and if Newcastle win it won't mean much because the final will be there so their inevitable bonus point win in the RDS is irrelevant.

From that The42 article posted earlier,
That deal expired at the end of this season and on the back of another year of impressive growth which saw attendance records soar to more than one million fans, Heineken has returned as European Rugby’s title sponsor.

Total attendances for the last 10 years in the Champions cup.
2008–09 1,177,064
2009–10 1,080,598
2010–11 1,139,427
2011–12 1,172,127
2012–13 1,063,218
2013–14 1,127,926
2014–15 985,717
2015–16 955,647
2016–17 1,018,026
2017–18 1,005,537

So they didn't soar they fell.
Although new format has less games tbf.
And the average is the 2nd highest ever after last year.
Ave attendance has increased by a whopping 108 people/game since 2009. The lone star year :D
Too many games at Allianz Park!
No final has broken the 60K barrier since the Nigels took over, and next year's can't.

Amsterdam, the home of the brewing company, is also expected to host the 2021 Champions Cup final.

Long time till then, dude. By then Gerd Wilders or some other right wing yahoo could've become prime minister and banned the "coffee shops".

If this was based on some plan to expand the reach of Rugby into new markets it would be a good thing but playing one game there is not going to help much. It is not surprising that we are slowly coming back to the event we had before the babies had their tantrum. The next steps are to move the organisation back to Dublin and to look at the seeding.
