Dooley has afair bit to do to pass Jack McGrath too.CiaranIrl wrote:Tomane has a long way to go before he displaces Ferg. He had an unbelievable year, and comfortably outplayed him when he played against us.backrower8 wrote:I like this potential line-up from Joe.ie:

My subs: Tracy, McGrath (Dooley could put him under pressure next year), Porter, Toner, VDF, McCarthy, Byrne, Larmour
Significant Others: Dooley, Ruddock, Deegan, Doris, JGP, Frawley, ROL, Dave K, Ferg, Daly, A. Byrne
There's enough rugby to be played for Ferg and Joe, especially with the number of guys getting Schminutes.
Re: Joe Tomane
Happy with this, centre pairing of Tomane and O'Loughlin works for me as backup to Ringshaw....good work Leo et al....gap filled.
Re: Joe Tomane
Good signing. We were a bit light at centre. Some head of hair on the lad eh! Hate to be sitting behind him at the movies.

Re: Joe Tomane
Smokin Joe Tomane I believe is the name he had down under. Looking at a few you tubes of our Joe, he's got a bit of pace alright. Him and JLO are going to be a nightmare next season, hopefully for the opposition. Go Joe.

Delighted with that. He sounds like a lad who will be willing to help young lads develop too.

Re: Joe Tomane
He'll probably play more for us (barring injury) than both of them put together last year. That's not an awfully high bar of matches I know but he will be a hugely important addition to the squad.ronk wrote:Isa or Joey?LeRouxIsPHat wrote:This feels like getting a new dog when I haven't finished grieving for the old one yet...not sure I can ever accept him.

Re: Joe Tomane
Isa had a chronic injury and age related concerns, Joe was injured playing for Ireland (and game managed by Ireland too).
We would be very unfortunate if Tomane isn't a regular squad member for most of the season.

16 tries in 44 games for Montpellier. Not bad

Re: Joe Tomane
Isa is utterly irreplaceable.
We did however need an EUQ utility back to fill a similar role to Isa
I think that we have chosen very well, an international who has played 11 through 14 in the Top 14 with a good try scoring record at club and international level. That is a quality piece of work by Leinster

Expecting a younger Isa would be a reliable way to set ourselves up for disappointment.
He's a good guy with a good record and hopefully he'll be like our last Australian signing.
